Transformers Gives Abominus an Adorable Makeover in New First Look

The original Transformers cartoon and comic books introduced several Combiners, with the third season featuring two that are now relatively obscure compared to the rest. Now, one of these is being given a modern, super-deformed incarnation, with fans getting their first glimpse at this abominable upcoming collectible.

MachineCat-Toys has revealed the grey prototype of MCT-02 Ferocy B-Robo, a third-party version of the Terrorcon Combiner, Abominus. All five team members are portrayed as chibis, and this super-deformed aesthetic extends to their combined form. One of many Combiner toys made by MachineCat-Toys, this brings one of the most overlooked classic Decepticon subgroups back to life.

The Terrorcons Roar Again in the Newest Transformers Combiner Prototype

Despite its small size, the MachineCat-Toys recreation of Abominus features a highly detailed prototype with quite a bit of articulation. Every inch of this combined form is accurate to the character’s animation model from The Transformers, though with the addition of a blaster that can be mounted on either arm or held in his hands.

This gun is made up of the combined weapons of the other Terrorcons, who also have highly accurate renditions of their classic designs (especially compared to their Generation 1 toys). Fitting, given their names, the Terrorcons transform from robots into mechanical monsters, with these alternate modes being far more impressive this time around compared to when the original action figures were released nearly 40 years ago.

When not used to merge the whole team into Abominus, the separate combination parts (a helmet, fists, feet and armor) can be merged into an even more super-deformed miniature robot. It’s not confirmed, however, whether these toys for the team retain their original “Scramble City” ability, in which the four “limb” Terrorcons could interchangeably become arms or legs.

Only now, in the prototype stage, as shown on the company’s Weibo account, the figures for MCT-02 Ferocy B-Robo aren’t expected to be released until late 2026 or early 2027. The latter would actually be the 40th anniversary of the original Terrorcon toys, so this would make more sense for a release date.

Much like the other Scramble City Combiners, the Terrorcons have an opposing theme to their Autobot counterparts, the Technobots. Whereas the Technobots are advanced Cybertronian vehicles, the Terrorcons are vicious monsters, even if their latest toys are downright adorable.
