Elden Ring: Lorebound Officially Releases This Year

There’s no doubt that FromSoftware has managed to carve out a specific appeal for itself over the years, with everyone having their own favorite from the continually expanding catalog. Of those, Elden Ring is probably the biggest and most ambitious, fully embracing the open world formula in what is one of the best RPGs of the last decade or more.

Just as Dark Souls did originally, Elden Ring has managed to build up a wider mythos around itself, with the additional DLC and Nightreign adding to the overall tapestry offered by the game. Now, another release is on the way very soon, and it’s a beautiful way to appreciate the wider world the game created.

Over on the website for Tune & Fairweather, the bookstore is now taking pre-orders for Lore Bound: Elden Ring Explained, a new anthology that breaks down the existing lore for the game in a beautiful package. It comes as a Deluxe Edition hardback, as well as a cheaper soft cover alternative for those who prefer that format.

Written by Michael “VaatiVidya” Samuels, it promises to be the most detailed release of its type to date, with real attention paid to the overall aesthetic of the product, as well as what is contained within. Though it isn’t cheap by any stretch, there is an affordability to the softcover edition, which clocks in at $42. The Deluxe Edition will set you back more, costing $95 at the time of writing.

In describing the product to potential customers, the store shared the following insights:

Lore Bound adapts and expands upon the narrative analysis from Vaati’s channel in an original, stand-alone volume that will serve as an essential reference work for anyone interested in the mythology of FromSoftware’s best-selling series to date.”

Many of you will already know the author from his VaatiVidya YouTube channel, where he makes detailed videos about FromSoftware games, with particular attention paid to their famously indecipherable lore.

Pre-orders for the book are open and available now, though you are looking at a little wait to read it, with the store expecting to start shipping to customers in Q1 2027.

Kenneth Haight Elden Ring

What’s officially going on with the franchise moving forward remains unclear, with FromSoftware remaining tight-lipped on whether they will return to Elden Ring, once they are done with Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods. As cool as the RPG is, I’m personally hoping for that long-awaited return to Bloodborne, however unlikely that might be.
