The upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI is dominating all the headlines right now, and that’s without Rockstar saying too much about it since the release of the second trailer and confirmation of the current release date. That said, we’re still almost half a year away from the big day, and there’s still plenty of GTA fun to be had in the meantime.
Most of that fun can be had in GTA Online, with the multiplayer portion of GTA V still receiving a ton of support from the developer, with thousands of players still logging in every day. If you’re one of those, we’ve just had confirmation that a huge a new release is on the way, and it could keep us occupied until the next game finally drops.
As first confirmed on the official Rockstar website, the next big heist for GTA Online is set to launch in July, and it could be the grandest and most ambitious release yet. The Kortz Center Heist takes players to the titular exhibition center, where we’ll be breaking in and grabbing some priceless works of art for our personal collections.
In the run-up to the arrival of the new heist, there will be plenty for players to do to get ready for what could be one of the biggest challenges we have faced as players. The developer broke down exactly what the next few weeks are going to look like for players before the heist becomes available:
“In the coming weeks, GTA Online will be brimming with ways to prepare for The Kortz Center Heist. Whether you’re looking to refine your real estate portfolio with a Mansion property to ultimately host your own solo Heists or gearing up as part of a larger crew, stay tuned for special events featuring bonus GTA$ rewards, record-breaking discounts, and opportunities to claim rare and exclusive treasures through the Fine Art Collector program.”
At the same time, GTA+ members are going to have access to a huge $2 million discount on luxury properties from Prix Luxury Real Estate. The only thing you absolutely must do ahead of time, if you’re planning on going for the heist, is to add the Art Studio to your property, to accommodate all of the works that you’re suddenly about to become custodian of.
It’s certainly a blessing that Rockstar continues to give us plenty to do in the current GTA while we wait for the next one, particularly with the two delays we’ve had so far. We’re yet to hear what their plans are for GTA Online moving forward, but at least we can go out in a blaze of glory if it does go that way.
