Dragon Ball Officially Brings Back Fan-Favorite Character For New Series

A fan-favorite character from Dragon Ball is making an official comeback with a new series, which is a surprise for fans, and you may not want to miss out. The decades-old franchise is one of the most popular IPs in the world, and its roster of characters is part of the reason why it’s so beloved. Decades after the manga and anime debuted, a new Dragon Ball Z board game is exciting fans, allowing them to take on the role of iconic heroes and face memorable villains in a campaign.

The board game is only one of the planned releases for the franchise, and fans will be able to dive into full Dragon Ball hype with an upcoming series. As was reported by CBR, the Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World card game has just received a brand-new expansion. Released on June 12, it is called Dragon Ball: Cross Force, and it’s the 10th main expansion for Fusion World. The big thing about this expansion is the character who is headlining it.

The Cross Force expansion for Dragon Ball has Vegito Blue as its main character, representing the comeback of one of the most popular character fusions in the series. Of course, he isn’t the only character featured in the new cards, as players and collectors will be able to pull cards like Son Gohan: Youth/Piccolo, Son Goku, and more. The collection also brings tons of alt art cards to seek as you collect cards to build your deck or expand your collection.

While there are surely tons of great gameplay opportunities with the new cards, there’s also the flavor of being able to run Vegito, one of the strongest fusions in Dragon Ball. For reference, perhaps to those who have forgotten, Vegito is the fusion between Goku and Vegeta, triggered by the usage of the Potara earrings. Vegito first appeared in the Majin Buu arc in Dragon Ball Z, though he has also appeared in the Goku Black arc in Dragon Ball Super.

Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World is a card game that was released in 2024. While it may seem centered around the Super anime, given its name, it does cover the entirety of the true canon in Dragon Ball. You can even collect and play Goku Super Saiyan 4, which was previously non-canon because of its limitation to the GT anime series, but has since become canon following his debut in Dragon Ball Daima – though with a slightly different look.

While Vegito isn’t making a comeback through an official anime following his appearance in Dragon Ball Super, this is a way of keeping the fan-favorite fusion alive. There’s a lot going on with Dragon Ball right now, especially with the recent release of Cross Force for Fusion World, so be sure to keep up with the new expansions.

From the creative mind of Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball is a mega multimedia franchise that spans back to the 1980s. Dragon Ball expanded quickly, starting as a serialized manga for Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan. It made its way overseas via manga and an anime adaptation that is enjoyed worldwide. Dragon Ball was the initial starting animated series that followed the adventures of the young Son Goku as he sought after the Dragon Balls. These mystical orbs would grant the wish of any who gathered them together. Then, the series would branch off into the immensely popular Dragon Ball Z, which followed Goku as an adult and featured high-intensity battles and Goku’s never-ending search to be the strongest. The series has also enjoyed several popular video game adaptations and continues to release several new animated series and theatrical films up to the recent popular Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
