Dark Souls Redemption Officially Releases August 2026

It will be in September that the beloved Dark Souls title celebrates its 15th anniversary. It is hard to believe that it has been well over a decade since many of us experienced the magic of a FromSoftware title for the first time as we headed to the kingdom of Lordran and began a pilgrimage to discover the true story behind the Cursed Undead.

Since then, Dark Souls went on to welcome two more installments, each as successful as the last, and, of course, FromSoftware’s success did not stop there, as it later went on to release standalone titles Bloodborne and Elden Ring, amongst others. As such, FromSoftware has cemented itself as one of the best game studios of all time, best known for its lore-filled stories and challenging combat that keeps players coming back for more.

Now, despite there being no sign of a potential Dark Souls 4, the hype surrounding the fictional world is far from over, and this August, Souls’ fans can look forward to a brand-new release.

Dark Souls: Redemption is an officially licensed manga series written by Julien Blondel and follows the original, standalone story of a nameless, amnesiac woman who, after awakening from a tomb, ventures into a barren landscape accompanied by an honor-bound guardian.

Its first volume was published back in 2024, whilst its second is set to follow in July, but now, Yen Press has unveiled what fans can expect from the third volume, which is expected to launch in August, and is available to pre-order now.

Set to launch on 26 August, Dark Souls: Redemption: Volume 3 continues the story of the tenuous relationship between a guardian, a keeper, and a hunter. The official synopsis reads as follows:

Yet, like a candle against a gale, hope flickers with each passing moment. In these cursed lands, hope is the sliver of dawn which beats back the night. Be it for duty, family, or survival— our heros will march into the winds of a world lost to ash and despair.

But the waning light of their hope cannot illuminate every dark corner of the world. And somewhere in the black stirs a reckoning which comes to snuff it out…

At the time of writing, a cover for Dark Souls: Redemption: Volume 3 has not yet been unveiled, but if previous volumes are anything to go by, we are in for a treat when it comes to this standalone story set in the dark fantasy world we all know and love.
