RIdley’s Scott’s highly anticipated return to sci-fi just got a new trailer. 20th Century Studios has released the second trailer for The Dog Stars, Scott’s upcoming sci-fi movie set to open in two months.
The trailer brings viewers to a post-apocalyptic world, and the movie’s protagonists reflect on the world that was. But they can’t reminisce for long, as this new world is not without its threats. You can watch the trailer below.
What Is The Dog Stars About?
20th Century Studios describes The Dog Stars as a riveting, epic thriller set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice. The story follows Hig, a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley, has carved out an efficient, isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world until a mysterious radio transmission spurs Hig to venture into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exists.
Scott directs from a screenplay by Mark L. Smith. The Dog Stars is based on Peter Heller’s 2012 novel about a world ravaged by a deadly flu pandemic, a theme that may resonate with audiences almost 15 years later, following the COVID-19 pandemic. The Dog Stars‘ cast includes Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Allison Janney.
