Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was a surprise hit in 2025, racking up countless awards and selling more than 8 million copies. While fans are still waiting for the next game from Sandfall Interactive, the long-awaited Esquie statue is officially available to preorder now.
In Clair Obscur, Esquie is a mythical creator who looks like a giant toy. While Esquie spends a lot of time napping, he’s actually an incredibly powerful being that plays a critical role in the game’s story.
An Official New Clair Obscur Figure Is Now Available For Pre-Order
With Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 being such a massive hit, it was always going to end up receiving merchandise. Now, fans of the RPG have the chance to purchase a statue of one of the game’s most beloved characters, Esquie.
Available for pre-order on goodsmile.com is the “Nendoroid Esquie.” Nendoroid is one of the biggest names in toys and statues based on anime and video games, while Esquie is an adorably designed mythical creature with a pure soul that captured the hearts of fans everywhere.
Pre-orders for “Nendoroid Esquie” are open from May 22 until July 1, so fans of Clair Obscur will need to act quickly if they want to bring this collectible home. Statues will then be shipped out sometime in November. The “Nendoroid Esquie” is available for 7,800￥ JPY, or approximately $46 USD.
“Nendoroid Esquie” is a non-scale articulated statue that comes with a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 branded stand. It’s approximately 102mm in height, it can be made to pose in a variety of ways, and it’s made from plastic. Perhaps most fun, Esquie can be equipped with a removable headband and hold his rough-around-the-edges tortoise best friend, François.
Surprisingly, the official description for “Nendoroid Esquie” is surprisingly sparse for a statue of its kind. It merely says, “Bonjour, mes amis!” an instantly identifiable quote of Esquie’s which roughly translates from French to, “Hello, my friends!” Given the popularity of the character, it seems that no other description was deemed necessary.
For Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 fans who are more interested in new gaming experiences than a wholesome, adorable statue, no worry is necessary. Sandfall Interactive also released a one-year anniversary update in April, which allows players to give their characters new haircuts, play with photo mode, and take on “Verso’s Drafts.”
