Ubisoft has confirmed that the final update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on June 16, 2026, marking over a year of post-launch support for the game. The update will bring Assassin’s Creed Shadows up to patch 1.1.11, just under a month before the release of the next game in the series: Black Flag Resynced.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows was first released in March 2025, coming at a very important time for Ubisoft. After a string of struggling titles, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was a hit for Ubisoft. Despite controversy from some corners of the internet, the game was also well-received critically, garnering a Top Critic Average of 81 on review aggregator site OpenCritic. The RPG formula isn’t for everyone, but the sentiment surrounding the game post-launch was largely positive.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Final Update Drops June 16
Ubisoft revealed on X that the upcoming June 16 1.1.11 update will be the final patch for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, marking the end of the game’s post-launch support. Despite the confirmation that this support is coming to an end, Ubisoft did not reveal exactly what will be added or fixed in the upcoming update. It’s unclear whether 1.1.11 will be a major patch, or whether it will merely contain small fixes for the game. The last update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows was patch 1.11.10, which added PSSR 2 support as well as mouse and keyboard support on Nintendo Switch 2.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has enjoyed a wealth of post-launch support from Ubisoft. As well as tons of updates, the game also received a large expansion named Claws of Awaji in September 2025, which continued Naoe and Yasuke’s story in a brand-new playable area. While it will be a shame to see the ongoing post-launch updates stopped, it’s also understandable as Ubisoft looks to move into the next era with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
It’s worth noting that while patch 1.1.11 is planned to be the final Assassin’s Creed Shadows update, there is historical precedent to suggest this could change in the future. Assassin’s Creed Unity – a game over 11 years old at this point – has received small hotfixes as recently as this year, and Ubisoft has released updates for most games in the series to add Steam achievements long beyond their initial launch dates. It goes to show that while Ubisoft may intend to leave these games in the past, small issues often pop up, forcing further updates in the future. That’s not to say this will definitely happen with Shadows, but it’s not beyond the realm of possibility.
