Horror Fans Can Turn Their Home Into the Backrooms With Official Wallpaper

The hit horror flick Backrooms has captivated audiences, turning the low-budget film into a blockbuster success. Fans can now transform their own personal spaces into something that looks like it’s straight from the movie, for better or for worse.

On A24’s online store, officially licensed Backrooms wallpaper is for sale. Featuring the dull yellow colors with faded arrows as part of its design, the wallpaper is self-adhesive with each strip measuring 30 inches wide and 48 inches tall. It’s $60 per strip, and fans can even enter specific wall dimensions to ensure they are able to purchase the correct amount. For anyone not quite sure if they want to go all-in right away, 12×17 inch samples are also available for $12.

Backrooms Has Become a Smash Box Office Hit

Backrooms was directed by Kane Parsons with the feature film serving as an adaptation of his popular web series that went viral on YouTube. It imagines a strange realm known as the “Backrooms,” an endless dimension of seemingly empty rooms and hallways adorned with yellow wallpaper. Renate Reinsve stars as a therapist who ventures into the bizarre dimension after one of her patients goes missing. Chiwetel Ejiofor also stars as a furniture store owner whose own life becomes increasingly connected to the frightening realm.

The movie was a major hit, as it’s already surpassed $262 million worldwide, making it A24’s highest-grossing film to date. Notably, it had a small budget of $10 million. Critics have also taken kindly to Backrooms, scoring it at 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. It would be no surprise at all if a sequel were to be made, given the immense success of the release. Parsons has hinted that he wants to continue making new chapters in the original web series, feeling that there’s still a lot to explore in that world beyond the story that was told in the new feature.

“Without a doubt, Backrooms has always been planned to be more of a series that goes outside the confines of this film,” Parsons told Variety. “If anything, I would say this is a bit of a foot in the door that would lead to more of a progression towards the true root of the narrative, which has been set up online for years. But a version that maintains accessibility and lets this be the way in.”

He further teased, “For people who are into it, I’ve got a contract, and I got a hold at my end, and that means I am definitely not done with Backrooms. I’ve got very specific things that I’m working on, things are in the works right now that I am eager to be able to talk about, but, currently, it’s still in a secret mystery world.”

Backrooms is still playing in movie theaters.
