Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary Stream Reveals New Chapters, Major Updates, And A Secret Horror Icon

Behaviour Interactive invited fans and media from across the globe to visit Montreal, where Dead by Daylight, the multiplayer asymmetrical horror phenomenon, is developed. A game that’s somehow managed to stay relevant and continues to grow for over ten years now.

During a massive tenth anniversary livestream for Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive had a boatload of information to share about the long-term future of the game, and also some content that’s coming sooner than later. We’ll get into it below, but the most important announcement that fans have been waiting for is the introduction of a new playable Killer that’s been desired for a long time now, who is very terrifying (wink wink).

Dead By Daylight: Every Survivor, Ranked

Each one of Dead by Daylight’s Survivors has unique Perks that give them an edge against the Killers, but some are better than others.

Who’s the Next Major Killer Coming to Dead by Daylight?

Besides Jason Voorhees coming to Dead by Daylight on June 16 as part of the new chapter and The Judgment coming as part of Chorus of Sin in August, Behaviour Interactive has revealed that Art the Clown from the Terrifier film series is making his way into the game sometime in November.

Upcoming Dead by Daylight Chapters and Collabs

Another big reveal from the livestream is the debut of a new indigenous survivor named Shane Wiigwaas. He’ll be part of ‘The Life Road’ Chapter, which will launch on June 25.

On top of that, the community-voted expansion, Chorus of Sin, will bring a new Survivor named Aurora and a new original Killer, the Judgment, which is set to launch sometime in August to kick off the 41st Chapter of DbD.

And to wrap up the Chapter news, The Casting of Frank Stone, a spin-off title developed by Supermassive Games, will be getting its own Chapter adaptation in Dead by Daylight, which will happen in early 2027.

Near or far, there is no escape from The Huntress in Dead by Daylight with these powerful builds that reinforce her power.

Tech Upgrades and New Game Modes

Considering that the developers of Dead by Daylight have been working on the same product for over ten years, it’s been challenging to keep the game looking as modern and visually polished as titles that are coming out these days. But surprisingly, the team has been working on a major visual overhaul for all the characters, as well as improving the maps, adding changes to lighting, environments, details, and more, which are all expected to roll out in 2027.

Here’s a rundown of all the changes coming:

  • Character model reworks
  • Dynamic weather effects (storms, rain, snow)
  • New voice lines
  • Realistic facial animations and movements
  • Maps will get enhanced textures, shading, and lighting

Here’s a peek at the map changes coming to Autohaven Wreckers for a good example:

These changes will work to make Dead by Daylight feel even more “immersive and emotionally impactful.”
