The upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be the biggest release we’ve ever seen in the history of video games, to the extent that other publishers are so terrified of the open-world game that September 2026 is now almost comically stacked with games that are rushing to get some attention before GTA 6 arrives. Other large games, such as Fable, have retreated to the safety of 2027.
While Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive have promised GTA 6 marketing finally begins properly this Summer, fans are growing increasingly concerned we haven’t seen that third trailer or any substantial gameplay. It’s coming, of course, but the question has been asked a few times: will GTA 6 really be ready for November 19?
Fortunately, it sounds as if everyone can stop fretting. Earlier this week, well-known industry insider NateTheHate weighed in on the release date, writing: “Unless something unexpected & catastrophically goes wrong with GTA VI in the immediate future… it’ll hit in November as planned.” Nate has an impressive track record, but he was one of many insiders echoing this sentiment.
Of course, as reliable as a leaker may be, many fans won’t be satisfied until they hear it from the horse’s mouth. In this instance, the horse is Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive.
Zelnick appeared in a recent interview with The School of Hard Knocks, where he was asked if GTA VI would be delayed again. Zelnick made it very clear: the game is coming November 19, and there will be no more delays. That’s about as official as you can get, surely. While the video is certainly set up to look as if the interviewer just happened upon Zelnick in the street, it’s unlikely that was the case.
“I think the unofficial marketing started a long time ago, when Strauss himself started reaching out to people,” one fan on Reddit observed. “The video seems deliberate rather than accidental. You can tell that as of November 19th, he’s still on the right track, and the video itself was published just 2 hours ago.”
Another added: “So he reiterated the release date and said you have to keep your word in business. Delay doomers have no reason to doubt anymore.”
I think we can finally go ahead and plan those sick days/book those holidays, because GTA VI is clearly on track for November 19 after all.
