Mike Myers has bluntly confirmed the fate of Austin Powers 4.

After 24 years without a new movie in the franchise, Myers has very swiftly confirmed the status of the long-rumored Austin Powers 4. Following the 2002 release and box office success of the third movie, Austin Powers in Goldmember, there have been rumors about a fourth installment coming later down the road. Myers himself has expressed interest in continuing the franchise for many years, both as his titular protagonist, and as the series’ beloved antagonist, Dr. Evil. However, since the previous film’s release, there’s been little concrete confirmation as to what the future of the franchise will look like.

However, while sitting down with comedian Trevor Noah for his World Cup Watch Party, Myers directly confirmed Austin Powers 4 is finally going to happen. The actor did not say anything more about the movie, meaning there’s no way of knowing who else is involved in the project or when it’s slated to come out. But now there’s direct confirmation from the star himself that another movie is in the works. This news also follows the release of a Verizon commercial earlier this week, which saw Myers reprise his role as Dr. Evil.

More to come…
