Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best open-world adventure game experiences, a masterpiece with a place in the hearts of gamers everywhere. With rich story content and open-world exploration, Red Dead Redemption 2 offers many features to get lost in.
However, players can always enhance their gameplay experience in the western world of Red Dead Redemption 2 by downloading and installing mods. There’s a huge modding scene for the title that, specifically, provides some of the best gameplay-enhancing mods for any major game.
Whyem’s DLC Adds a Host of New Cosmetics for Red Dead Redemption 2
WhyEm’s DLC is a gameplay-enhancing mod that adds a ton of new clothing items players can wear to dress one of the most popular video game characters from the last decade. The total number of items the mod adds exceeds 2500 and includes holsters, satchels, boots, coats, hats, and much more. It’s a great mod for when there is a certain desired western look the vanilla game can’t provide.
There are also several outfit options and even an eyepatch, truly making the options for customization endless for Arthur or John Marston in Red Dead Redemption 2. New hair and beard styles are added alongside clothing, as well as new saddles, carvings, glints, and tints for several firearms.
Gun Tricks Adds Stylish Moves To Red Dead Redemption 2
Gun Tricks is a simple mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 that carries over a feature from the game’s online mode to story mode to make the player feel like they are in a western movie. In short, players can now do the gun tricks that were a feature in the online mode, where players could twirl and do tricks with pistols and revolvers. Now with the Gun Tricks mod, players can perform the same tricks in story mode by pressing a hotkey added with the mod.
By pressing the TAB key, players can start spinning their gun, making it easy to take cool screenshots. Players can also stop spinning their guns by pressing the Tab key again, or change the trick key by pressing the 1–4 keys on their keyboard. Gun Tricks is an easy installation as well, only requiring the online content unlocker mod and a way to load the online content for it to work correctly installed.
Bounty Hunting – Expanded and Enhanced Expands Bounty Hunting in Red Dead Redemption 2
If players find the bounty hunting options lacking in story mode, they can quickly add more content to the vast open adventure game experience in Red Dead Redemption 2 by installing one simple mod. Bounty Hunting Expanded and Enhanced makes it so there are random NPC bounties that players can hunt for decent money by visiting a sheriff or police station in a town. Bounty Hunting Expanded and Enhanced also includes the bounty wagon from the online mode that players can use to store bounty targets for easy transport in Red Dead Redemption 2.
There are even random events that can happen when traveling, added to flesh out the world more. Rival bounty hunters can also go after targets the players are after, increasing the chances of having unique gunfights when bounty hunting. To avoid any issues with the mod, players need the online content unlocker or version.dll mods installed.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Offline Unlocks a Ton of Content From Online Mode
Players can unlock a ton of content featured in the online mode for Red Dead Redemption 2. The items included with the mod are clothing, cosmetics, firearms, weapons, and horse customization items. Other items include holsters, legendary animal items, and the powerful Navy revolver.
However, to access any of the items added by the Red Dead Redemption 2 offline mod, players need the online content unlocker mod. The online content unlocker mod is a framework mod that makes it possible to access many items featured in Red Dead Redemption 2’s online mode.
Bandit Hideouts Adds a Ton of New Locations To Red Dead Redemption 2
Bandit Hideouts is a massive mod that adds well over 143 new gang hideout locations to the open world in Red Dead Redemption 2 that pushed the limits of gaming. There’s also 50 new ambush points, and the chance to find rival gangs roaming the open world ready for a gunfight. These bandits will drop their guns upon death, allowing easy access to late-game items through combat.
Clearing bandits at hideouts can even earn the player money, along with the chance to loot items from slain bandits. The Bandits Hideouts mod also includes the option to hire gunmen from saloons to help clear hideouts or to just protect the player when traveling. Bandits Hideouts requires either AB or RDR2 scripthook to work correctly as intended in-game.
Hunting Wagon Makes Hunting Easier in Red Dead Redemption 2
If players are fans of the online mode, they should recognize the Hunting Wagon mod. The mod adds a driveable hunting wagon that players can use to store skins and animals hunted in the massive open world of Red Dead Redemption 2. The hunting wagon can also be spawned at one of the camp locations throughout the chapters in the game.
A radar icon will also display the current location of the hunting wagon, allowing for easy tracking by players when traveling or hunting. The Hunting Wagon mod will also require RDR2 scripthook to work correctly, and works great with other hunting mods to flesh out the overall hunting experience.
Jobs Expanded and Enhanced Adds More Activities in Red Dead Redemption 2
Jobs Expanded and Enhanced is a mod that adds more opportunities to make money outside of breaking the law. When installed, the mod will add several job activities players can use to earn money through legitimate work. Working as a wagon guard, postman, or dockworker are some of the new job options players have with the Jobs Expanded and Enhanced mod.
There are even jobs where players need to take NPCs to different locations by working as a chauffeur, and there’s also ranch hand and wildlife pest control jobs. The opportunities with the Jobs Expanded and Enhanced mod are endless, making it a decent pick for any playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Ambient Gang – RDR Gang Addon Expands Gangs in Red Dead Redemption 2
The Ambient Gang add-on mod is a massive mod that focuses on the presence of gangs in Red Dead Redemption 2. Gangs with the mod now roam and get into conflict with rival gangs; there are also new gang hideouts and several new gangs players can encounter. Players can also see bounty hunters driving wagons more often, and carrying prisoners, with several other changes made as well.
The mod’s new gang additions will have unique spawn locations and can be found at either locations or simply while traveling on roads. Certain enemies will also spawn more special ammo when looted. The loot was also increased on certain gang members, making farming the loot from enemies worth the hassle.
