Hatsune Miku is no stranger to merchandise, especially when it comes to Nendoroid dolls. Two of her newest collectibles are based on her most seasonal variant, and it’s all in the name of real-world tourism.
Good Smile Company has opened up pre-orders for two new Miku Nendoroids, with both of these based on the pink Sakura Miku version of the character. They even come in special attire to honor the seasonal occasion, with the aim of promoting travel between two Japanese municipalities. More articulated than the normal Nendoroid releases, these two dolls are certain to put their respective Japanese locations on the map.
Good Smile Company Dolls Up Hatsune Miku With Two New Vocaloid Dolls
The newest Hatsune Miku dolls from Good Smile Company are part of the “Hirohako” campaign, which involves both Hirosaki City in Aomori Prefecture and Hakodate City in Hokkaido. This campaign is meant to promote tourism to both locations, with a special traditional illustration featuring the cherry blossom-themed Sakura Miku being created for it.
Good Smile Company’s latest Nendoroid dolls are based on this artwork, with these being the “Nendoroid Doll Sakura Miku Hirohako 2025 Ver. (Hirosaki)” and “Nendoroid Doll Sakura Miku Hirohako 2025 Ver. (Hakodate).” The difference between these and most Nendoroids is that, while they have the chibi Nendoroid heads, their roughly 5.5″ bodies are more articulated and detailed. The same is true of the special clothing they wear, made from real fabric.
Sakura Miku’s Hirosaki version has the character’s traditional twin-tails, along with cherry hair ornaments, a fabric hair ribbon, a kimono, a hakama skirt, tights and magnetic shoes. The Hakodate version has a fabric bonnet, a haori coat, a kimono, an obi sash, underwear and magnetic shoes. Each doll also has different interchangeable hand options, and their respective outfits (which can be mixed and matched) are available to purchase separately.
The dolls with their clothes are around $76 USD each, whereas the outfits are roughly $39 USD when bought separately. Pre-orders are open from now until July 8, 2026, with the collectibles shipping out sometime in January 2027. Regardless of whether fans are from or have visited Hirosaki or Hakodate, they can now pre-order the dolls on sites such as Hobby Link Japan.
In the past few years, there has been an increasing number of Sakura Miku toys, dolls and collectibles. This version of the Vocaloid character is just one incarnation of her, centered on the seasons, as she represents the cherry blossoms associated with springtime in Japan.
Another similar character is Snow Miku, who’s much more prevalent at the end of the year or the beginning of the next. Like these two new Nendoroid dolls, Snow Miku has regional ties. This showcases how ubiquitous the character has become, and in her nearly 20 years of existence, she’s been synonymous with anime and anime-adjacent culture, despite only recently getting an anime movie of her own.
