We’ve had dismay and plenty of delays when it comes to Grand Theft Auto VI. In fact, if not for the most recent delay, we’d all currently be playing the game right now. But May 2026 has come and gone and there’s still a Leonidas-sized hole in all our hearts. Thankfully, Strauss Zelnick is on hand to put everyone’s minds at ease and reassure us about Grand Theft Auto VI, and its release date. The game is nearly upon us, so circle your calendars and start getting excited. Grand Theft Auto VI is almost upon us.
It can be hard to believe Rockstar Games and Take-two Interactive when it comes to the release date of Grand Theft Auto VI. After all, we’ve been burned twice before. But once again, Strauss Zelnick is on record confirming the release date of November 19th. Speaking on the ‘School of Hard Knocks’ channel on TikTok, Strauss was stopped in the street for an impromptu interview. Once again, he reiterated that Grand Theft Auto VI will, in fact, launch on November 19th, which is comforting to all the fans out there, myself included.
The rather brief interview is genuinely entertaining too. The interviewer seems blissfully unaware of who he has cornered for an interview and when he learns it’s the CEO behind one of the biggest games ever made, he seems to fanboy out a little. Strauss talks about his success and how he got there but, most importantly, he once again confirms that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19th. With the recent earnings call and multiple interviews, the message is clear…no more delays for Grand Theft Auto VI. November is going to be a busy month for fans.
Of course, some of the fans in the comments section on TIkTok are a little more skeptical. With Zelnick not stressing which year the game will release, there are plenty of fans pointing out it could be a future November 19th far from now. One such commenter said the following:
He didn’t say which year of November 19th. Could be nov 19 2096 for all we know lol
Let’s assume though that he meant this year in good faith. The truly exciting part is that the marketing campaign should be starting any day now. As previously confirmed by Zelnick himself, they want to start marketing from the 6-month mark, which means we are mere days away from seeing more Grand Theft Auto VI content. With it being so long since we got trailer 2, fans are now clamoring for a third gameplay trailer. Here’s hoping Take-Two Interactive release something soon to keep us satisfied.
November still feels so far away, but getting new content to pick over with a fine tooth comb would certainly make the wait more bearable. And with details about Red Dead Redemption 3 still being kept very much under wraps, Grand Theft Auto VI might be the only game we see from Rockstar Games for quite a while. Although we are fairly confident it’ll keep us playing for many months, if not years to come.
