Xbox Game Pass is already promoting some of the titles coming to the service in July, but with June 2026 only halfway done, there are still plenty of releases happening this month. And even if you don’t have a Game Pass membership, Xbox owners can grab a new RPG for free right now. However, this offer is only available for a limited time, so you’ll want to act fast.
As Game Pass continues to announce 2026 day-one games, there are still a few offers that apply to all Xbox owners. That’s the case with a new RPG that’s free to play until June 22. The game technically went up yesterday, so you have basically a full week to check it out before the offer expires.
As confirmed by PureXbox, Mistfall Hunter is completely free to play on Xbox from June 15 to June 22, 2026. This is part of an open beta that’s currently going on. To check out the game for yourself, head over to the Microsoft Store, where you can download Mistfall Hunter for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
It’s worth noting that the open beta is also available on Steam and the PlayStation Store, but the dates remain the same. If you take part in the open beta for Mistfall Hunter, then you can earn cosmetic rewards that will carry over once the game officially releases. This is through special events that run during the open beta period. To claim the rewards in the full game, though, you’ll need to use the same account.
Mistfall Hunter (the trailer can be viewed above) is an extraction action-RPG with a dark fantasy setting. Set in the world of Weavereach, the game focuses on specialists called Gyldhunters, who must defeat horrific monsters or rival Gyldhunters for loot. The game can be played solo or with up to two companions. The catch is that if you die, you lose everything, so you’ll need to get to certain extraction points and ring a bell to avoid failing.
It’s an intriguing premise, and Mistfall Hunter launches in full on July 29, 2026. Although this isn’t a typical kind of Free Play Days deal, the RPG can only be played in its current state until June 22, so if you want to check it out for free early, you have a little less than a week left to do so. In the meantime, if you’re an Xbox Game Pass member, you can access a new batch of games for June 2026 right now.
