Trump’s bizarre chart touting reflecting pool size dismays Nicolle Wallace

MS NOW’s Nicolle Wallace said she had secondhand embarrassment on Thursday’s “Deadline: White House” after sharing a clip of President Donald Trump bragging about the size of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

During an event in the Oval Office, the president touted a chart titled “Our Pool is Bigger than Skyscrapers,” which compared the pool’s length to the heights of famous buildings, including New York’s Empire State Building, the Willis Tower and One World Trade Center.

“That was real,” Wallace said after playing a snippet of Trump gloating about the project. “It was another in a growing chronicle of things I asked my team to vet to make sure it wasn’t AI.”

“That was actually the president, not some stunt guy. That was actually from the Oval Office, not a Jimmy Kimmel skit,” she continued.

Wallace said the United States has officially entered the “‘My Pond is Bigger Than Your House’s part of the Trump presidency.”

The MS NOW host questioned why Trump would even compare the length of a pool to the height of buildings, which she said “makes no sense at all,” adding, “I don’t even know why those things are on the same piece of paper. Someone should have told him one was a body of water, the other three are buildings.”

Wallace said she was “embarrassed” even sharing the president’s comments, “especially in a moment when Americans are screaming from the rooftops about the price of gas, cost of child care, cost of healthcare and the economy, as well as unhappy about the war with Iran.”
