A Studio Ghibli classic is getting its first-ever live-action remake with a new Kiki’s Delivery Service adaptation.
As first reported by Variety, BBC Studios Kids & Family is teaming up with Wheel in Motion and Kadokawa Corporation to develop a live-action Kiki’s Delivery Service TV series, the first for the property. The series, which is being penned by Irena Brignull, is expected to be a 10-episode run consisting of half-hour episodes, with the story drawing “primarily from the first volume” of Eiko Kadono’s six-book series that the Studio Ghibli animated movie adapted originally adapted.
