Steam Officially Makes 2 Games Free To Keep Forever Until June 15

At this point, it pays to peruse Steam every day. Not necessarily for deals, but for complete freebies. You never know when something will be free, and the windows for those deals often close quickly. Sometimes, you only have 24-48 hours to snag a game, which can be brutal when it’s happening every day.

While free-to-play games grace the marketplace constantly, it’s an even rarer sight to spot a no-strings-attached free game. It does happen, though, especially if you’re vigilant about it.

For instance, right nowyou can pick up two free games on Steam, one of which ison sale to celebrate a milestone. You only have until June 15, though, so act fast.

Celebrating their roots, Klei Entertainment has made Eets free on Steam until June 15. As their first game, it means a lot to the studio, so they’re preserving it and bringing it back on Steam as a freebie for a limited time.

Here’s why Eets is free this week: “Some time back, Eets, the very first game released by Klei Entertainment, became too old to play on modern PCs, and in 2015 it was delisted and no longer available for purchase. In an effort to preserve the game for ourselves and our fans, we’ve updated the game to be playable once again, and we’re releasing the game free of charge to commemorate our 20th anniversary. We’ve come a long way, and we appreciate every one of you who has supported us on this adventure. We hope you enjoy this slice of Klei history, and thank you for the opportunity to create more adventures for you to enjoy in the future.”

Described as “Lemmings meets The Incredible Machine,” this 100-level game is a great free pickup, as it’s a hard sell just based on screenshots, given its age. That said, this was beloved when it was released, and folks could see the shine on Klei Entertainment out of the gate.

If you’re so inclined, you can also pick up Happy’s Humble Burger Farm, which is a first-person horror and restaurant simulator game from 2021. It’s similarly free until June 15, and has a 93% user rating as of the time of publication, in part due to its unique premise.

Even if you’re away from your home machine, log into Steam and grab these games for free while you can. For Eets in particular, it’s as easy as redeeming the license, and it’ll be added to your account instantly.
