A handful of free games that players can keep forever can be claimed on Steam. All four games are free to play with no strings attached, giving gamers looking to save some money plenty of time to kill at no cost.
Often, Steam will make games available to play for a limited time, though after a certain time period ends, they can no longer be used. Other times, there are freebies with titles available to claim and forever as long as they are added to gamers’ libraries before the end of a promotional period. Meanwhile, Steam will also offer titles that are completely free forever, and four recently-released games are a part o that category. Check out the list of four of the latest additions below.
Hidden Objects – Item Find
The first of the new set of free games is AA G Brothers Software’s Hidden Objects – Item Find. As it sounds, this is a hidden object game that hides objects in various 2D locations, each one with a unique design. It’s a cozy game that’s designed to be relaxing, and it offers a “Spot the Differences” mode for an added challenge. If anything is too difficult to spot, players can also opt for helpful hints to find what they are looking for. An offline mode is available, so there’s no need for an internet connection once the game is downloaded.
Recall Rogue
BramblegateGames has also released the early access version of Recall Rogue, a knowledge roguelite that offers 100 decks with over 67,000 real facts. Each card is a real fact, and answering a question will charge it, making charged cards hit harder. Skipping the question plays it safe for base damage, while guessing the wrong answer will result in a weaker hit. Facts that are nailed go to the back of the queue, while those players struggle with come back more often. Topics include 7 languages
INKOCHET: Paint the Walls With Your Arrows!
Next on the lineup is Mangas Mango Studios’ INKOCHET: Paint the Walls With Your Arrows!, a retro first-person puzzle game. Offering both solo and 2-player co-op gameplay, the goal is to shoot arrows that can ricochet up to four times to paint every wall. It’s a concept that’s easy to understand, but with limited arrows, it can be tricky. Each level will require different strategies to master, and for co-op gameplay, it helps to utilize coordination and communication.
SpellCatcher
Another free game is SpellCatcher from developer Skuppy Wuppies. This is an open-world 3D platformer where players use magical spells to collect animals, sending their data back to Big Magic University. Finding rarer animals will come with bigger rewards, as will being creative about how magical spells are utilized. It has drawn some comparisons to titles like Slime Rancher, though this one has the benefit of being completely free.
