Steam Confirms Upcoming Free-to-Keep Game with Over 1,500 Very Positive Reviews

Backend information for Steam’s video game promotions confirms that a 2021 hybrid horror game with fast food management gameplay will be made completely free to keep sometime in June 2026. It typically costs just $20, but within the next couple of weeks, it’ll temporarily be free to download and keep forever on Steam.

Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion is incredibly popular, but it is not incredibly reliable. While games typically rotate in and out, usually on the same day, there are periods where games are offered for weeks, for a day, or nothing is on offer at all. Backend info via Steamdb can indicate plans for upcoming Free-to-Keep games, but that data can be quasi-reliable. With that in mind, every upcoming Steam Free-to-Keep Promotion game goes through that list with just a few missing target dates or facing other issues.

A recent Steam update has added the 2021 hybrid horror game Happy’s Humble Burger Farm to the list of upcoming games for this promotion, but it bears repeating that this game is not out yet. However, anyone seeking to save a buck should not buy it on Steam right now, instead waiting for this promotion to go live. It is slated to go live as part of Steam’s Free-to-Keep Promotion for June 2026, alongside narrative-survival game The Red Lantern and open-world survival-crafting game Wild Terra 2: New Lands.

For those unfamiliar, Happy’s Humble Burger Farm is an indie horror game that combines fast-food management gameplay with psychological horror and exploration. Players step into the shoes of a late-night restaurant employee responsible for preparing burgers, serving customers, and keeping operations running smoothly, but any mistake draws the wrathful attention of the restaurant’s mascot. No doubt, it’s one of the most unique horror games on Steam, and reviews reflect that.

Since its release in 2021, it has accumulated 1,647 reviews (as of this writing) while maintaining a 95% Very Positive rating on the platform. That’s not done easily. Steam users praise its gameplay mechanics, its unique atmosphere, and its abundance of secrets. Most of the critiques, of which there are obviously some but few, focus on technical issues, iffy moments, and occasional bugs, which is by far not the biggest issue of any indie game on Steam.

While it’s uncertain when in June this game will be part of Steam’s Free-to-Keep promotion, patient players can stay tuned to the news for it (covered here by GameRant). Once it’s live, we’ll be sure to share it with our audience.
