Samara Weaving’s new crime caper is conning its way onto digital platforms in two weeks.

The Australian actress broke out in horror with Mayhem and The Babysitter (both 2017), but it was Ready or Not (2019) that cemented her as a modern scream queen, opening doors to sequels and more genre hits like The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020), Scream VI (2023), Azrael (2024), Borderline (2025), and Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (2026). Recently, she has stepped beyond horror, starring in the heist movie Eenie Meanie (2025), the action-comedy Over Your Dead Body (2026), and a new R-rated crime thriller that’s coming to digital platforms quite soon.

Samara Weaving Keeps Finding New Ways To Entertain

Samara Weaving’s next starring role is just the latest proof that being a Scream Queen isn’t holding her back from pursuing new challenges.

Despite debuting in theaters just three days ago, Carolina Caroline is coming to digital in two weeks. Directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier, with a script written by Tom Dean, the movie stars Samara Weaving as a woman who joins a charismatic con man on the run, their crime-fueled romance spiraling across the Southeast as they search for her missing mother.

Now, following its theatrical release in the United States on June 5, Carolina Caroline is coming to digital on June 23, at midnight ET, including platforms like Prime Video, where it is currently available to pre-order in UHD for $19.99.

Other than Samara Weaving, the cast also includes scream king Kyle Gallner in a lead role, Jon Gries (Napoleon Dynamite, The White Lotus), and Emmy winner Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer).

Originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025, Carolina Caroline has received rave reviews, resulting in a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score, with critics praising it for traversing a familiar crime framework with an atmosphere as steamy as the on-screen spark between Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner, which electrifies its doomed romance with a jolt of adrenaline-fueled energy.

With fewer than 50 ratings, Carolina Caroline does not yet have an audience score.

However, Carolina Caroline opened in only 200+ theaters on June 5, and with no box office numbers being reported, Magnolia Pictures seemingly isn’t too confident in its commercial prospects moving forward. But by coming to digital platforms in just two weeks, the critically lauded crime thriller could end up finding a larger audience at home sooner rather than later.

Carolina Caroline is just one of three Samara Weaving movies already released in 2026, as Ready or Not 2: Here I Come arrived in theaters on March 20, while Over Your Dead Body, an action-comedy about a married couple each separately plotting to kill the other during the same weekend getaway, followed a month later on April 24.
