Thanks to its award-winning attention to detail, Rockstar managed to transport fans to the end of the American Frontier during 19th century America in its action-adventure title Red Dead Redemption 2. Marking the third installment in the Red Dead franchise, Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely regarded as a modern-day classic as, despite only launching back in 2018, it is already considered one of the greatest video game releases of all time.
Praised for its narrative, performances, music, open-world setting, gameplay, and attention to detail, Red Dead Redemption 2 has a whole army of fans who, whilst waiting for the news of a potential Red Dead Redemption 3, spend a lot of time on Red Dead Online, an online community that allows players to create their very own outlaws and gunslingers and head to the Wild West.
Thanks to Rockstar, Red Dead Online has welcomed multiple updates since its launch back in 2018, with regular events, content, cosmetics, and more, added on a monthly basis. It may not have received the same love as Grand Theft Auto Online, but Red Dead Online still boasts a dedicated fanbase, some of which will be excited to learn about the latest free download dropping now until 22 June.
As part of the ongoing Red Dead Online event which kicked off back on 2 June, players have been able to earn themselves some exciting rewards such as extra XP and RDO$, cosmetics, items, and major discounts. This is what the official Rockstar blog post has to say about the current event:
The rising tide lifts all boats this month in Red Dead Online. Whatever your specialty, all Roles benefit from boosted bonuses. Bounty Hunters tracking targets, Traders wheeling and dealing in furs and pelts, and Collectors combing the frontier for treasure all stand to gain.
All the while, Naturalists can assist by sighting and sampling rare wildlife, and Moonshiners can get rich moving illicit swill right underneath the law’s nose.
Earn bonuses and rewards across all Roles while taking advantage of waived Fast Travel fees, assembling a free Community-Inspired Outfit, and more through June 29.
However, from now until 22 June, Red Dead Online players can get their hands on an exclusive reward: the O’Creagh’s Run Treasure Map. Available from 16-22 June, the map will be rewarded to players who reach rank 20 of the Collectors and, as you can expect from the item’s title, it will allow you to follow the coordinates and find some exciting buried treasure.
Additionally, this is not the last treasure map up for grabs this month, as next week, from 23-29 June, players will be able to earn the Bluewater Marsh Treasure Map by reaching rank 20 of the Traders.
So, if you are on the hunt for some buried treasure and want to earn some epic rewards for free, make sure to head onto Red Dead Online this week and get digging.
