What a year in 2026 it’s been for Prime Video so far with the return of comic book projects like Invincible (starring Steven Yeun) and The Boys (starring Karl Urban). While the streamer has officially announced that a new season of Robert Kirkman-written show will be released next year, the same can’t be said for Eric Kripke’s five-part series, which recently wrapped up its run after debuting its first season as a binge back in 2019. One of Prime Video’s biggest shows to come out in the last few years, Reacher, is also expanding with a new season before the close of 2026. Led by the giant action star Alan Ritchson and based on the novels by Lee Child, Reacher has become one of the biggest series in the world, and it’s already been renewed for Season 5 ahead of the Season 4 premiere.
Long before Prime Video had Reacher, though, it had Jack Ryan, the Tom Clancy-inspired series led by John Krasinski. When Jack Ryan first arrived, Krasinski was mostly known for his role as Jim Halpert in The Office, but the Prime Video original espionage thriller helped him become one of the most reliable action stars in the world. Prime Video released four seasons of Jack Ryan over six years, and while most fans thought that the story of Jack Ryan had reached a natural end following the conclusion of Season 4, Prime Video brought the character back recently for a new sequel, Ghost War, which began streaming on May 20. New viewership data has confirmed that Jack Ryan: Ghost War opened at #3 with 809 million minutes viewed (#7 overall) following its debut on Prime Video. It recently gave up the top spot to Over Your Dead Body, the action thriller starring Timothy Olyphant.
