Upcoming GTA 6 Release Forces Car Company to ‘Pause Operations’

The November 19 launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 has already forced a vehicle performance company based out of California to take an operational pause on that day to allow its staff members to play the game. The GTA 6 memo was issued five months before the highly-anticipated title from Rockstar Games hits store shelves globally.

It’s no secret that GTA 6 is one of the most-anticipated games of 2026. Though GTA 6 is just five months away from release as of this writing, details about the game have been elusive. However, Rockstar Games recently confirmed on social media that pre-orders for GTA 6 will finally open on Thursday, June 25 in digital storefronts and select retailers. Rockstar Games also gave fans a look at the cover art for GTA 6, with characters like Jason and Lucia featured prominently across the panels.

GTA 6 Launch Causes SoCal Motorsports Shop to Pause Operations

As GTA 6 prepares for its upcoming marketing push ahead of launch, one company stated that it would temporarily pause operations on November 19. Car performance company Burger Motorsports posted a June 11 memo on Instagram that stated it would observe a “company-wide operational pause” once GTA 6 is released. Based in Southern California’s Simi Valley, Burger Motorsports stated that it had reviewed multiple employee scheduling conflicts with its management, which determined that standard operations would be disrupted on that date. Burger Motorsports said that some of its departments, including customer support, social media, shipping, and processing, may experience delays as a result of GTA 6‘s launch.

Normal operations are expected to pick back up once Burger Motorsports’ staff members have at least experienced the initial segments of GTA 6. In response to Burger Motorsports’ post, GTA fans supported the company’s decision and stated that they would also be taking time off that weekend to play Rockstar’s game. Given that Burger Motorsports called the launch of GTA 6 an “unprecedented cultural event,” the impact of Rockstar Games’ highly-anticipated game can’t be understated. Though GTA 6 has experienced release date delays, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reiterated during a May interview that GTA 6 would hit its November 19 release. Additionally, GTA 6‘s June 25 pre-order window means that the game is unlikely to experience any further delays.

However, GTA 6‘s price remains a lingering question for some fans. While PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases have generally stayed around $69.99, Nintendo has opted to go as high as $79.99 for titles like Mario Kart World. Though previous rumors have claimed that copies of GTA 6 could sell for as much as $100, Rockstar has not commented on the price. Ergo, GTA 6 fans are left waiting for Rockstar Games to reveal how much the game will cost come November 19.

Given the cultural impact that Rockstar Games’ open-world franchise has had for over two decades, GTA 6 is still projected to sell millions of copies across the globe within its launch window. It remains to be seen if a high MSRP will deter some fans from buying into GTA 6 at launch.
