The original Starter Pokémon are coming back with a brand-new design, and they’re bringing some of their earliest successors along for the ride.
Renowned Japanese toy and miniatures company RE-MENT has officially unveiled its next offerings to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. These come courtesy of the upcoming Hajimari no Bōken Pokémon Journey with You! Anniversary — The Dawn of Adventure blind boxes, which will contain one of three miniatures featuring the full trio of Starter Pokémon from the first three generations of mainline Pokémon video games.
RE-MENT’s Hajimari no Bōken Pokémon Journey with You! Anniversary Collection is Perfect for the Occasion
The Hajimari no Bōken Pokémon Journey with You! Anniversary — The Dawn of Adventure collection consists of three sculpts featuring each trio of Starters from Pokémon Red and Green, Pokémon Gold and Silver, and Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. All three sets of Starter Pokémon are nestled together in a lush corner of their native regions, showcasing the various landscapes of Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn.
Each Hajimari no Bōken Pokémon Journey with You! Anniversary — The Dawn of Adventure collection blind box retails for ¥2,090, or around $13. The set is currently slated to arrive in stores on November 2, although it isn’t the only one of its kind that fans can look forward to this year.
On November 16, RE-MENT will be releasing the Hajimari no Bōken Pokémon Journey with You! Anniversary — A New Journey Begins blind box set will be released. The second wave of figures in the wider collection features sculptures of the fourth, fifth, and sixth generations of starters from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Pokémon Black and White, and Pokémon X and Y. This will be followed by the Hajimari no Bōken Pokémon Journey with You! Anniversary — The Road to Tomorrow collection on November 30, which will include the most recent generations of Starters from Pokémon Sun & Moon, Pokémon Sword & Shield, and Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
What the Next Generation of Pokémon Games Have In Store for Fans
As exciting as it is to get to revisit the original Starters and their successors from the eight generations of Pokémon games that have been released since then, the tenth generation of Starters are just around the corner with Pokémon Winds & Pokémon Waves slated for release next year. The next generation of Starters includes Growt, a gruff Grass-type Bean-Chick, Pombom, a lovable Fire-type Puppy Pokémon, and Gecqua, an intelligent Water-type Pokémon.
The next Starters will hail from a new region inspired by the archipelagos of Southeast Asia. Pokémon Winds & Pokémon Waves will offer players near-endless opportunities for exploration across dozens of small islands, vast underwater sections, and a myriad of towns and villages replete with new challenges to tackle. Fans got their best look at the currently unnamed region in a video showcasing the recording of the new theme song alongside footage from the opening sequence of Pokémon Winds & Pokémon Waves.
