The Pokémon franchise is pretty unique in the fact that those who play it continue to return to the older games in the series all the time, even when new releases come along and change things once again. Though there was undoubtedly plenty wrong with them, Scarlet and Violet actually feel like pretty underrated entries these days.
There are certainly some out there who agree as well, with plenty of players still returning to the two games all the time to take part in the latest events and updates. A big part of that is the incentives offered by the developers, and the latest of those is now live, if you’re looking for a bit of a Pokémon fix for the rest of the week.
As first reported by Go Nintendo, the Pokémon Scarlet/Violet ‘Cinderace’ Tera Raid Battle Event is now live, serving as a great endgame challenge for those who have assembled their dream team of ‘mons.
As the name suggests, the event sees Cinderace return to the fore in 7-star Tera Raid Battles, with the ‘mon appearing at black Tera Raid crystals from Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. It’s also worth noting that the version of the Cinderace that appears at the event has Fighting as its Tera Type.
Aside from the opportunity to catch the Cinderace for yourself (if you haven’t already), there are also plenty of rewards on offer for returning to the battle and taking it on. Though your mileage may vary, you can pick up Exp. Candy for leveling up your Pokémon, treasures to sell at your nearest Pokémon Center, stat improvement items, and Fighting Tera Shards if you want to change your Pokémon’s Tera type.
The Mightiest Mark version of the encounter is also available to players, though you will need to make sure that you have either completed the events at the end that follow the main story, or you join a friend or another player that has done so for the encounter.
It’s nice to see Game Freak continuing to service several of their more recent games, as we wait to hear more about the upcoming tenth generation and Pokémon Winds and Waves. That game should be quite a different offering when it does eventually drop, but we have to wait until 2027 for that, so it’s lovely to have plenty to do in the meantime.
