Pokémon Legends: Z-A is enjoying somewhat of a honeymoon era following the launch of its DLC. The game seems feature-complete after the arrival of the Mega Dimension expansion, and it’s been enjoying seasonal rotations, new rulesets, and, of course, free gifts.
We also learned that Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sold roughly 13 million units since launch. If it ended its run today, it would be roughly on par with the middle of the pack in overall sales, settling in next to Pokémon Yellow. Over time, it’s possible that it could soar beyond that, and get into the coveted top 10.
However, the upcoming season is changing things, and we now know the full scope of what’s on offer throughout June and July thanks to information from Serebii.net.
Season 13 of Pokémon Legends: Z-A online multiplayer will kick off on June 25, running through July 16, and more prizes are in tow. It’ll use the following ruleset: “Teams of three from level 1 to 100, and all Pokémon will be set to level 50. The thirteenth-ranked Battle Series focused on standard battles in the Z-A Battle Club and returns to the rules, allowing all Pokémon except Restricted Pokémon into the battles.”

This is a massive strategy shift from Season 12, which was basically an all-out war, allowing tons of different previously-banned combinations of Pokémon. While it was a wild time for online play, many fans are relieved to be back to normal after the chaos.
Even if you aren’t actively playing Pokémon Legends: Z-A, it’s worth diving back in to snag some free Mystery Gifts from time to time. After all, you can use them on your active party, and potentially transfer them into Winds and Waves. As we wait for more information on that process going forward, you can prep to your heart’s content.
