One Piece‘s next stop on its NBA tour is taking Monkey D. Luffy to the Knicks, and the timing couldn’t possibly be better.
The ongoing collaboration between One Piece and the NBA has just given fans of both the perfect new figure at the perfect time in the form of a New York Knicks Monkey D. Luffy. Like previous figures, the S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA Monkey D. Luffy -NEW YORK KNICKS ver.- figure showcases the iconic captain of the Straw Hat Pirates in a full Knicks uniform, save for the addition of the character’s classic hat and sandals.
Readers can check out the figure for themselves in the images below.
One Piece’s NBA Crossover Is Giving Fans the Best Way to Celebrate the Knicks’ Historic Win
The S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA Monkey D. Luffy -NEW YORK KNICKS ver.- stands at approximately 14.5 cm tall, and features a variety of additional parts and accessories that fans can swap with ease. These include two interchangeable faces, six hands, Monkey D. Luffy’s hat, a hairpiece, a perfectly scaled basketball, and a New York Knicks acrylic stand to support dynamic action poses.
The S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA Monkey D. Luffy -NEW YORK KNICKS ver.- figure, like the rest of the collaboration line, offered fans the chance to reserve their spots back in April, with products expected to arrive sometime in October. Unfortunately, the Knicks figure is currently only available in Japan, leaving international collectors to turn to third-party retailers to secure one for themselves.
At least, that is the case for now, though it might not be for much longer. Following the New York Knicks’ historic victory over the San Antonio Spurs during the fifth and final game of the NBA Championship on Saturday, June 13. Not only did the Knicks secure their first Championship title in over five decades with the win, but they also did so while overcoming yet another double-digit point deficit, as they had in three prior games against the Spurs since the finals began on June 3.
The One Piece collaboration with the NBA was revealed back in November, with nearly a dozen characters receiving the same treatment while representing an even greater number of teams. Apart from the various figures themselves, the collaboration also includes a series of Tony Tony Chopper plushes, each decked out in NBA team gear, with additional tie-in merchandise set to be unveiled throughout the rest of the year.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, this isn’t the only pro sports collab that the One Piece franchise has taken part in this year. In May, the official One Piece YouTube channel and JFATV released a compilation video featuring some of the fans’ favorite characters interspersed with clips of the Japan national football team, Sakka Nippon Daihyo, better known as Samurai Blue. The video was released just days before Samurai Blue faced off against the Netherlands on June 14 during the Group F leg of the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
