The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man has had plenty of costumes that have since been adapted in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Indeed, Marvel’s Spider-Man’s MCU costume skins, such as the Hybrid suit, the Homemade suit, and the Upgraded Classic suit, have been a wonderful treat for fans who adore Tom Holland’s iteration of the character.

Insomniac has made a tradition of doling out Spider-Man suits inspired by the wall-crawler’s live-action costumes, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man suits also represented in-game. Therefore, with a brand-new Spider-Man movie releasing in a little over a month, it was only a matter of time before Insomniac announced that a new suit would soon be arriving in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Inspired by Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Insomniac announced earlier on X that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be adding the ‘Fresh Start’ suit Peter Parker wears in the upcoming movie. The movie itself will be released on July 31, but Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players will be able to web-swing and web-glide in this stunningly comics-accurate costume as early as July 28. Better yet, it’ll be free and available to all players on PC and PS5.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s new costume has received plenty of love for how simple and faithful to the classic comics it is, especially after a decade of movies where Holland’s Spider-Man wore suits that were either made by Tony Stark or arguably overdesigned and overly technological. Now, Peter is left to his own devices (he’s still a genius in his own right, but with none of the wealth that Stark possessed), and is finally the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man that he should have been from the beginning. To have this suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s costume catalog, then, is a treat.

Of course, anyone who prefers playing as Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won’t be getting as much out of this update as Peter fans. That said, with Holland repeatedly mentioning how he’s excited to eventually pass the Spider-Man torch onto a new generation and possibly mentor them, whether that’s in-universe as Spider-Man or otherwise, it might not be much longer before we have a live-action adaptation of Miles for future Marvel’s Spider-Man games to draw suit inspiration from.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to be released on July 31, 2026.
