In Just 1 Week, KPop Demon Hunters Returns to Theaters

KPop Demon Hunters is heading back to the big screen this summer, and fans will be able to get tickets for the incredible price of $1. The Netflix sensation is officially part of Regal’s Summer Movie Express event.

Regal Movie’s official website has a full lineup of kids movies planned as part of their $1 Family Movies for Summer Break promotion. Each week from June 1 to Aug. 13, $1 tickets are available starting at 11AM Monday through Thursday. Attendees also receive $3 off a cup of Dippin’ Dots ice cream and a snack pack, which includes a junior-sized drink, popcorn and fruit gummies. KPop Demon Hunters is on Regal’s schedule to be shown from June 15–18.

KPop Demon Hunters Join Sonic & How to Train Your Dragon in $1 Summer Movie Event

If getting KPop Demon Hunters tickets for $1 wasn’t a sweet enough deal, Regal has also revealed that the version of the film that will be shown in theaters is the special Sing-Along version. The film previously had a limited theatrical release on Aug.23 and 24 of 2025 as well as Oct. 31 through Nov. 2, where it topped the box office.

In addition to KPop Demon Hunters, Regal’s Summer Movie Express program also features a host of other blockbuster films at $1 ticket prices. Notable films include A Mineraft Movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3, the new How to Train Your Dragon and Despicable Me 4. The full lineup can be seen and tickets can be purchased on the Regal Movies website.

The new theatrical release for KPop Demon Hunters will help to continue the film’s already amazing cultural impact. Upon its release nearly one year ago on June 20, it quickly became the most-watched original title in Netflix history, amassing over 500 million views by the year’s end. Its soundtrack was also the first to have four songs in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 simultaneously, and it earned a double platinum certification thanks to songs like ‘Golden’ and ‘Soda Pop.’

KPop Demon Hunters‘ story follows a K-Pop girl group named HUNTRIX who secretly lead double lives as demon hunters. Their world is shaken to its core when a mysterious new rival boy band named the Saja Boys begins to take their spot — and the girls soon realize their rivals are secretly demons. The film’s success has undoubtedly launched a franchise, with big plans already in place for a sequel and even a real-life global concert tour.

HUNTRIX’s return to the big screen through Regal’s Summer Movie Express is great news for fans, but unfortunately, it will still be several years before KPop Demon Hunters returns with a new film. Given the film’s runaway success, Netflix has already been considering several follow-ups, which reportedly includes two sequels, a TV series, and many more. Unfortunately, further adventures with the demon hunters will likely be years in the making.

Back in November, it was announced that the KPop Demon Hunters sequel is planned for a release sometime in 2029. However, earlier this year, the creative team behind the film suggested that it would likely “not be finished” by that time, though a new date was not given. A silver lining to the long wait: the sequel is reportedly much “larger” in scale and will potentially even explore new musical genres.

KPop Demon Hunters returns to theaters at Regal Cinemas from June 15–18.
