GTA 6 Fans Stunned At Gap Between Trailer 2 And Trailer 3

The build-up to Grand Theft Auto 6 has come with plenty of excitement, but it’s also generated a fair amount of confusion and frustration. Rockstar Games has been exceptionally deliberate with its marketing strategy, choosing not to saturate the market with heavy advertising until the release date grows closer.

That isn’t to say there haven’t been highlights, and the second trailer, which dropped in May 2025, proved to be a hugely rewarding trove of footage for fans. In June 2026, however, the same fans who were thrilled by the second trailer are starting to realize just how much time has passed since its release.

This week, the X account GTA 6 Countdown highlighted how much time has passed since the second GTA 6 trailer, making a note that June 10 marked 400 days since its release. They accompanied the observation with an edit of Leonardo DiCaprio’s character in Inception recalling the trailer release, soundtracked by Hans Zimmer’s “Time.”

In the replies, other fans are feeling the passage of time just as heavily. GTA 6 Leonida shared a gif of Rose saying “It’s been 84 years…” in Titanic (incidentally, a nice pairing with the Leo post). Analyst would prefer not to think about the subject, accompanying “pls don’t remind me bro” with a couple of crying emojis. With GTA 6 skipping Summer Game Fest last week, leaving the release date for the third trailer up in the air, it’s hard to say how many days might pass before more major news arrives.

Some fans, on the other hand, are taking a glass-half-full approach. Now that 400 days have already flown by since the second trailer, RockStation argues that it “Shows how fast November will come.” At this point, fans also shouldn’t have long to wait until the third trailer, as a previous financial report from Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive suggested that marketing would ramp up this summer. Of course, summer is a fairly large range, and there’s nothing to stop Rockstar from holding all info until late August.

For now, however, fans will have to content themselves with rewatching the first two trailers and poring over all the previously revealed details. It’s hard to imagine that there’s much left to glean at this point, but that won’t stop true scholars of GTA 6 from trying. Hopefully, Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t add too many days to the tally before delivering the third trailer that everyone’s waiting for.
