Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most anticipated video game of all time, and it’s set to finally release, after 13 years of waiting, this November. While one might think Rockstar would be exclusively focused on their biggest game ever, they’ve instead just delivered one final gift to fans of GTA 5.
In a shocking turn of events, Grand Theft Auto 5 is getting brand-new DLC in 2026. Specifically, over the next few weeks, fans of GTA Online will receive a great deal of new bonuses, and a new heist to partake in will be added to the open world juggernaut.
Grand Theft Auto 5 Officially Receives New Update This July
Grand Theft Auto V released all the way back in 2013 and, with it, came GTA Online. While a multiplayer mode can expand the runtime of any game, it’s a testament to the addictive nature of GTA Online, and how much content was packed into it, that thousands of people continue to enjoy it daily thirteen years later.
Now, with only five months until the release of GTA 6, GTA 5 continues to be updated. This July, a new rollout of content will be added to GTA Online, with the crown jewel of the update being a brand-new heist.
“Perched on the hills of Pacific Bluffs, the world-famous Kortz Center looms large over the Los Santos cultural scene,” the scene for the new heist is set on Rockstar’s website. “Priceless international works of art have adorned its hallways for years, and now the time has come to raid this prestigious gallery’s esteemed collection for personal gain in The Kortz Center Heist, this summer’s exciting new update coming to GTA Online in July.”
“To accommodate burgeoning interests in art theft and counterfeiting, you’ll need to add the Art Studio to your Mansion property, then scope out the sprawling Kortz Center complex before choosing an approach for this multi-stage Heist infiltrating and escaping the grounds.”
Outside the Kortz Center Heist, GTA Online players have the opportunity to earn special GTA$ rewards, take advantage of record-breaking discounts, and get new options through the Fine Collector Art program. GTA+ members will also receive a GTA$ 2,000,000 discount on luxury properties from Prix Luxury Real Estate.
Still, the Kortz Center Heist is the big deal here, and it’s one of the largest updates ever added to GTA 5. For anyone itching to play GTA 6 already, GTA Online is now offering the perfect way to pass the time.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to release on November 19, 2026.
