It is hard to believe that this year celebrates the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 9, but it has indeed been over two decades since fans got to dive into one of the greatest video game releases of all time.

Marking the ninth installment in the Square Enix fantasy RPG series, Final Fantasy 9 took players to the Gaia where nations had declared war on one another. You would take on the role of thief, Zidane Tribal, who kidnaps Princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII as part of a ploy by a neighboring nation. Joined by Garnet and a cast of unique characters, Zidane embarks on a plan to overthrow Queen Brahne of Alexandria, who just so happens to be our Princess’ mother.

As such, it received a remastered version featuring minor gameplay and graphical enhancements back in 2016.
