In addition to a new Palace, another semester, and new characters, Persona 5 Royal also introduces a new collectible to the original game’s over 100 hours of content: the Will Seed. Players must find this new item in hidden locations across each Palace.

As the Phantom Thieves travel through the Metaverse defeating monsters and bringing corrupt adults in the outside world to justice, the player must balance their time with different events and piece together the story. Along the way, three Will Seeds will be located in secret rooms across nearly every Palace. Finding them will reward Joker and his party with buffs.

How Will Seeds Work In Persona 5

Each Palace will have three Will Seeds: one red, one green, and one blue. The only exception to this rule is the eighth Palace, which does not contain any Will Seeds in order to make room for Persona 5 Royal‘s ninth Palace and third semester, which is new to Persona 5 Royal in comparison to the original.

Once all three Will Seeds in a location have been collected, they can be combined and traded for a powerful accessory, buffing the Joker and his party or giving them new abilities to use during combat. Additionally, finding the collectibles also benefits the player by restoring a small amount of SP on pickup.

While picking up the red and green seeds only requires finding the corresponding secret room, the blue Will Seeds are always guarded by a mid-boss. This boss can be tough to defeat, so players should be prepared to strike them with ailments and hit Technical abilities if possible.

Finding these collectibles can be difficult, but it is also made easier by occasional hints from Mona and the ability to buy missing seeds from Jose’s shop in Mementos.

Kamoshida’s Palace (Lust) Will Seeds

Here’s where to find this level’s Will Seeds:

1	Red	East Building Annex: Left Hallway	Leave the chapel/gym and follow the hallway. Locate the goat’s head on the left, follow the path to the balcony, and use the grappling hook.
2	Green	Central Tower: Roof	Look up at the tower’s entrance and use the grappling hook to get up to the roof and again to get across the bridge. Next, scale up the tower, enter the open window, cross the vent, and look up to use the grappling hook to get to another open window.
3	Blue	Central Tower: Hidden Sewer	Reach the lower level using the elevator, head down the path with Kamoshida’s portrait, and go through it. Trigger the gears to the northwest and return through the portrait to fight the boss. Unlocking Persona 5‘s showtime attacks may help here.

The cast of Persona 5 Royal encounter Kamoshida’s Palace when their school building literally transforms into it. It may look impressive and daunting, but it’s essentially the game’s tutorial level, where you’ll learn the basics.

Madarame’s Palace (Vanity) Will Seeds

Madarame’s Palace contains these three Will Seeds:

3	Blue	Main Treasure Hall: Upper Left Hidden Room	Through the vents, use the grappling hook to cross the balcony. Then, go through another vent and unlock the door to the right.

Madarame’s Palace, aka the Museum of Vanity, is a museum dedicated to its creator, reflecting his huge ego. It houses all the art that Madarame has stolen from other artists over time.

Kaneshiro’s Palace (Gluttony) Will Seeds

The Will Seeds for Kaneshiro’s Palace can be found at these locations:

3	Blue	Underground Vault: North of Inner Layer	Before entering the lift, use a switch to move the gates and access the innermost ring. Go upstairs.

Instead of taking over a single building, Kaneshiro’s Palace—or the Bank of Gluttony—spans almost the whole neighborhood of Shibuya. It’s also floating in midair and sucking money out of the streets below.

Futaba’s Palace (Wrath) Will Seeds

Futaba’s Palace acts as a massive tomb, and its Will Seeds are located here:

2	Green	Chamber of Guilt: Eastern Doorway	Complete the puzzle using the codes R01100 and B10011 and enter the doorway to the right.
3	Blue	Chamber of Sanctuary: Statue and Wooden Bridge	Cross the floating platforms to the next room and kick down the wooden panel. Cross the bridge and use the grappling hook.

Futaba’s twisted Pyramid of Wrath is a place created by the character’s unresolved anger toward herself. It’s an epic, large structure like the famous Egyptian pyramids.

Okumura’s Palace (Greed) Will Seeds

You can find the three Will Seeds in Okumura’s Palace by following these steps:

2	Green	Export Line: Space Base	Head to the right of the safe room, and follow the ramp up until the ability to use the grappling hook appears. Then, climb up the pipes and continue through the vent.
3	Blue	Transfer Line: Central Factory	First, use the two alpha airlocks and then the gamma.

Okumura’s Palace is a uniquely Sci-Fi themed palace that takes the form of a high-tech, futuristic spaceport. You’ll have to watch out for robotic workers as you progress through the level to find the Will Seeds.

Niijima’s Palace (Envy) Will Seeds

Here are the Will Seed locations for Niijima’s Palace:

2	Green	Slot Room: Left Corridor	Head through the hallway to the left and up the stairs. Find the stacked cardboard boxes that can be climbed and do so, then use Joker’s new grappling hook.
3	Blue	High Limit Lobby: Left of Safe Room	Go left outside of the safe room, jump up on a pedestal, and get to the roof using the grappling hook. Enter the vent.

Niijima’s Palace is also known as the Casino of Jealousy, for obvious reasons: It’s shaped like a huge, neon-lit casino. This palace shows up in the beginning of the game, but players only get to explore it later in the story.

Shido’s Palace (Pride) Will Seeds

In this Palace, you can find the following Will Seeds:

1	Red	Mid-Starboard Hallway: Right of Safe Room	Enter the room to the right of the safe room and travel through the doors to the north. Take the stairs up to find the balcony. Find the mouse switch, turn it off, and then use the grappling hook and travel through the vent.
2	Green	Port Side: Lower Cabin Passage	Hit the switch again. Head to the top right of the map, turn into mice, and travel through the vent.
3	Blue	Side Deck: Passenger Ship	Prepare for the blue seed’s mini-boss. Head to the right of the safe room, go up the platforms near the “ark of elite” sign, then use the grappling hook. Hop over the wall and continue along the path.

Shido’s Palace, the Cruiser or Pride, takes up even more space than the Bank of Gluttony. It takes the form of a government building sitting atop a cruise ship, which sails around an ocean that completely engulfs Japan.

Maruki’s Palace (Melancholy) Will Seeds

Maruki’s Palace is also known by the unhappy-sounding alternative names “Center of Melancholy” and “Laboratory of Sorrow.” Fittingly, the Palace takes the shape of a mental health clinic, made of glass and gold. Its Will Seeds can be found at these locations:

2	Green	Laboratory: Research Ward Safe Room	Take the stairs near the second monitor room and head to the right. Look for the grappling hook opportunity, then enter the vent. Find the broken window, break it, and follow the path.
3	Blue	Twilight Circuit: Second Level	Leave this Persona 5 Royal safe room, go down the stairs, turn off the red switch, and cross the teal bridge. Go over the two blue bridges heading north, then the green bridge to the right. Turn off the blue switch and turn on the red switch. Head south across the green and then the red bridge, and then the red bridge to the west. Turn off the green switch and turn on the blue, then go back across the first red bridge. Jump across to the south, cross the blue bridge, and turn on the green light, then cross the red bridge. Turn off the red light and follow the path.

Players can return to the Metaverse and experience the extra challenge of collecting every Will Seed throughout the Palaces in Persona 5 Royal.
