Dragon Ball Officially Gives Earth’s Greatest Hero His Due in New First Look

Mr. Satan is seen as Earth’s greatest hero by the public in the Dragon Ball universe and has a cult status among the series’ fanbase. Now, a new release is officially celebrating one of his biggest achievements.

Per the official Dragon Ball website, Banpresto is giving Mr. Satan his due with a brand-new History Box series figure. The History Box series is known for faithfully recreating iconic moments from a character’s anime. For this latest entry, Banpresto chose to showcase Mr. Satan’s grandstanding pose immediately after he secured victory at the 25th Tenkaichi Budokai tournament to become the Grand Champion for the second time in a row.

The figure also comes with a diorama base, another standout feature of the History Box series. These bases are crafted to enhance the collectible’s realism and accurately replicate the scene in question. In Mr. Satan’s case, the base takes the form of a worn-out and chipped stage from the tournament.

The new figure is extremely well sculpted and captures Mr. Satan’s features and every other detail, including the small rubble on the stage. “Every detail, down to the contours of his muscles, the texture of his facial hair, and even his smug expression, has been crafted in meticulous detail. This exquisite figure looks like it comes straight from the anime and is bound to put a smile on your face simply by displaying it,” the official website noted.

This Mr. Satan figure will initially launch as a crane game prize in various amusement centers across Japan. International fans need not worry, though, as they can pre-order the figure through retail stores like BigBadToyStore for US$28.99. The merchandise is scheduled to officially ship to overseas buyers sometime in July 2026.

The 25th Tenkaichi Budokai tournament featured an unbelievably strong lineup of participants, including Goku, Vegeta and Gohan. However, the sudden emergence of Babidi and Majin Buu forced them to abruptly resign from the tournament, allowing Mr. Satan to advance through the brackets with relatively little challenge.

The only threats he faced were the Masked Man and Android 18. The former was disqualified from the proceedings after learning that Trunks and Goten were impersonating him, whereas Android 18 intentionally threw the final match after striking a deal with Mr. Satan for a large sum of money. This ultimately ensured his victory and cemented his status as the absolute strongest warrior and the Earth’s protector in the eyes of the oblivious onlookers.

Mr. Satan had already established his reputation during the Cell Saga, opportunistically taking credit for the defeat of Cell. Despite his reliance on deception and his physical limitations compared to the other Z Warriors, the character proved his worth multiple times in the series, including the final battle against Kid Buu by convincing humanity to provide the energy needed for Goku’s Spirit Bomb.

Dragon Ball Z anime is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.

The cast of Dragon Ball Z, including characters such as Son Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo, among others, leaps towards the camera in the poster for the show.
