Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2 Is Finally Going To Give Fans The One Villain Death They’ve Waited 4 Years For

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Demon Slayer Chapter #151 and beyondDemon Slayer: Infinity Castle‘s second part already has the writing on the wall for one of the series’ most hated characters. The irony is that very little information about the sequel to 2025’s wildly successful Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is even available yet. However, one critical showdown was telegraphed by the cliffhanger ending of the blockbuster film.

While fans await further information following Infinity Castle Part 2’s disappointing release updates, they can at least revel in the fact that they’ll see Doma, the behemoth Upper Moon 2 demon, finally taken down. Over the past few years, there has been no shortage of reasons to despise the sadistic antagonist — but to make matters better, the second Infinity Castle film will add one final layer of insult before capping off one of Demon Slayer‘s most brutal enemies in its most satisfying fireworks show yet.

Demon Slayer Has Long Set Up Doma’s Demise

Doma is, without question, Demon Slayer‘s most heartless demon. He has always been a character who fulfills a certain anime villain archetype: cool, calculated, and aloof. In fact, the offense he raises comes largely from his aloofness. Even before the first Infinity Castle film, it was clear that he had virtually no emotions at all. The contrast of his total detachment with his charisma is enough to send chills down anybody’s spine.

This comes to a boiling point with Infinity Castle Part 1, which already laid the groundwork for Doma’s comeuppance with one of the Infinity Castle arc’s best battles. Shinobu and Doma’s fight in the first film was quick, and as horrifying as it was satisfying: Shinobu came in with a death-wish vendetta fueled by a resentment that’s been in place as early as the Swordsmith Village arc, where it’s revealed that Doma was the one who brutally murdered her elder sister Kanae.

Doma seems to have the upper hand at the end of the battle. At first, it seems as though Shinobu’s vendetta is denied as she dies in front of her adoptive sister Kanao. But Doma is clearly weakened now, ready for Kanao and Inosuke to strike the killing blows.

Infinity Castle Part 2 Will Raise The Stakes For Its Doma Fight

As the film comes to an end and Inosuke and Kanao rear for battle under the scrolling credits, it’s clear what could happen next — but it’s impossible to anticipate its actual gravity. Obviously, Doma isn’t at the top of his game. But there’s one core revelation in this fight that makes his death hit so much harder.

As if fans needed another reason to hate Doma, when Inosuke loses his mask early in the fight, Doma recalls that he had devoured Inosuke’s mother. Worse yet, he claims to have devoured her after she tried to flee with Inosuke when she realized Doma was eating his worshippers.

As he volleys taunt after taunt and tries to get under both Kanao and Inosuke’s skin, every word from his mouth is so lacking in humanity that Kanao’s attempts to keep Inosuke grounded feel less like urgent calls for the sake of battle and more like calls to herself in remembrance of her sisters.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2’s Release Date May Get First Update This Summer

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Part 2 might be getting its next big release date update this summer at Anime Expo 2026.

The grief of having her family taken by someone so egregiously callous is evident when Kanao cuts through Doma’s taunts by questioning his own ability to feel anything at all. All the while, a full-on battle rages with the pair trying to fend off Doma (and Doma seemingly impressed by their respective strength).

Finally, at the last moment, Shinobu’s sacrifice takes effect as Doma is overcome by poison. Shinobu had long ingested Wisteria poison in anticipation of this exact showdown. This leaves Kanao and Inosuke an opening to finish him off. More than anything else, it shows how adept the franchise is at setting up its emotional payoffs. Both Shinobu and Kanao, not to mention Inosuke, get to play a vital part in Doma’s death.

As Doma dies, he experiences a brief instant of humanity and empathy which is utterly rejected by Shinobu in the afterlife. Demon Slayer‘s empathetic storytelling is famous; in a full-circle sense, seeing that empathy be denied to its most horrifying demon will be Infinity Castle Part 2’s most satisfying scene.
