Crunchyroll Officially Drops 24 Major Manga Releases in New June 2026 Update

Crunchyroll’s official manga app is receiving a huge update for June 2026. Following the company’s partnership with Kodansha USA Publishing, anime fans will soon have access to a myriad of additional titles, including Hiro Mashima’s beloved fantasy shōnen, Fairy Tail.

As detailed in a recent press release, 24 popular manga works from Kodansha’s iconic library will become available on Crunchyroll’s Manga app starting June 8, 2026. This expansion builds upon the impressive library of titles that the app has already accumulated since its 2025 relaunch, which, from day one, included international hits such as My Dress-Up Darling, One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen and Daemons of the Shadow Realm.

An official update trailer, along with a full list of the new Crunchyroll Manga titles, is available below.

Several of these manga IPs have also garnered successful anime adaptations that are currently hosted on Crunchyroll’s premium content streaming service. Incidentally, the aforementioned Fairy Tail is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year, having launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine back in August 2006. The long-running series follows Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel and a flying cat named Happy as they embark on various missions as members of the famed “Fairy Tail” wizard’s guild.

To commemorate Fairy Tail’s 20th Anniversary, Kodansha is currently planning an official series renewal unrelated to the manga’s ongoing sequel, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. As detailed on the franchise’s official anniversary site, the original Fairy Tail will return to Weekly Shonen Magazine as a “short-term, concentrated serialization” starting in August 2026 — nearly a full decade after the series concluded its original run.

Action and Fantasy are far from the only genres represented. Kodansha’s lineup also features Yuji Terijima’s baseball-themed sports manga, Ace of the Diamond and Shuichi Shigeno’s iconic street racing saga, Initial D. The latter series revolves around Takumi Fujiwara — an adolescent tofu delivery guy with driving skills that rival many of Japan’s greatest racers. As Takumi’s job has him speeding along the treacherous roads of Mount Akina, his prowess behind the wheel begins attracting potential challengers from all across Japan.

Initially published in May 2006, Ace of the Diamond tells the story of Eijun Sawamura — a pitcher capable of throwing off the best hitters with his erratic pitching style. After accepting a scholarship to Seido High School, Eijun joins the school’s team and helps his fellow players begin winning local tournaments and working towards their ultimate goal: Japan’s legendary Koshien championship.

In addition to lighthearted romantic comedies like Girlfriend Girlfriend and My Little Monster, Crunchyroll has also acquired one of anime and manga’s most heartbreaking modern drama stories. Initially published in 2013, Yoshitoki Oima’s A Silent Voice revolves around Shoya Ishida, who spent his sixth-grade years ruthlessly bullying a deaf classmate named Shoko Nishimiya. After Shoko abruptly transfers schools, Shoya ironically becomes the target of his classmates. When the pair meet again in their teens, Shoya tries to redeem himself by forging a genuine friendship with Shoko.

As of June 4, Crunchyroll hosts over 200 manga titles from prominent US- and Japan-based publishers such as Square Enix, COMPASS, Shueisha, Titan Manga, VIZ Media and Yen Press. The Crunchyroll Manga app is accessible after purchasing one of Crunchyroll’s three premium subscription tiers. For the “Fan” and “Mega Fan” tiers, the app is available as an add-on to the standard contents of each package.
