Call of Duty Fan Unbanned from MW3 After 4,999 Days

A gamer who was banned from the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for 4,999 days can now play the game again after over a decade of waiting for the ban to be lifted. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 first launched back in 2011, and the franchise has evolved a lot since then.

Activision has released a new Call of Duty game every year since the original Modern Warfare 3 first hit the scene. A mix of new entries and spin-offs have continued to push the massively popular military shooter series forward, and there has even been a full-blown reboot of the Modern Warfare series in that time. A lot has changed since 2011, but that hasn’t stopped a determined Call of Duty fan from waiting to see their years-long ban expire.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is the Black Ops Game I Always Wanted

Based on the information fans have for Modern Warfare 4’s story, it’s quickly become apparent that the game is exploring a concept Black Ops fumbled.

Call of Duty Fan Can Now Play Modern Warfare 3 Again After 4,999 Days

YouTube and Tiktok content creator LukeManuFC revealed that he can finally play the original Modern Warfare 3 again. His 4,999-day ban recently came to an end, marking the finale of a long waiting period that lasted a whopping 13 years. According to a pinned post on LukeManuFC’s TikTok page, the reason he was banned is that his in-game activity looked like cheating. However, he insists that he wasn’t doing anything dishonest and that the ban was an unfortunate mistake.

When he first tried to log into Modern Warfare 3, he was a little bit too early. There were still a few hours left on the ban, demonstrating just how strict these blocks can be. LukeManuFC stepped away from the game and came back to Modern Warfare 3 after the estimated handful of hours passed to check again. This time, it worked. After 13 years, he was able to play a Modern Warfare 3 match. These kinds of intense bans happen occasionally, and they can actually be even worse. Last year, one player received a Call of Duty ban that was 67 years long.

Even though the game is now 15 years old, Modern Warfare 3‘s lobby still had over 200 players in-game on Wednesday evening when LukeManuFC jumped back into the game after the forced hiatus. That pales in comparison to stats like new entry Black Ops 7‘s player numbers, but that’s still impressive for a game that is over a decade old. There are some Call of Duty fans that have remained loyal to the older entries over the years, and the original Modern Warfare 3‘s lobbies still being active is a reminder of that.

LukeManuFC has demonstrated an amazing amount of patience. A lot of gamers may have simply forgotten about the ban timeline, especially after having 15 years worth of new entries. It’s going to be interesting to see if this Call of Duty fan continues to play Modern Warfare 3 now that he finally can again. Taking a trip down memory lane with the original Modern Warfare 3 could be a fun way to pass time while waiting to jump into Modern Warfare 4‘s DMZ when the game launches on October 23.
