Four years after Cyberpunk: Edgerunners delivered its devastating finale, Lucy and David’s tragic love story finally gets a new ending in an official video game release this summer. Starting this month, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners brings back Lucy, David and Rebecca for an exciting limited-time crossover event in Wuthering Waves, an open-world gacha game developed by Kuro Games.
The “Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Collab” limited-time crossover event features an exclusive animated scene that brings Lucy and David together in a heartfelt reunion that quickly drew praise from fans online upon its release. Bartosz Sztybor, a writer and producer of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that the crossover story is canon with the 2022 Netflix anime.
The action-RPG’s new collaborative event, aptly titled “The Dream Not Dreamed,” serves as an exciting segue to Anime Expo, where more information about Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is expected to be announced.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Gets a New Ending in Official Wuthering Waves Summer Collab
The new Wuthering Waves crossover event is quickly turning into the next viral moment for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The collab treats players to an original animation starring Lucy, David and Rebecca from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners made exclusively for the game. The heartwarming sequence shows Lucy and David recreating their magical moon Braindance in an alternate reality during a tender moment of reconciliation following the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
With this new original animation, Wuthering Waves just gave Cyberpunk: Edgerunners fans the crossover of their dreams. The limited-time Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners event began on June 8 and runs into July. The event’s end date is subject to change, so any “Rovers” looking to maximize their event grind should watch for in-game announcements or updates via official social platforms.
Another exciting element of the ongoing collab is the permanent addition of the official Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anthem to the game. Per the game’s announcement outlining the crossover, “Following the Version 3.4 update, the collab track ‘I Really Want to Stay at Your House’ will be added to the Heart Radio Channel and Archive of Melodies for players to enjoy while driving the expedition motorbike.”
“I Really Want to Stay at Your House” by Rosa Walton was created for the Cyberpunk 2077 game soundtrack and became cemented as the franchise’s quintessential anthem after being featured in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. At the height of its popularity in 2022, the song peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and performed similarly well in several regions worldwide.
Players can enjoy the ongoing Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners crossover event now via Windows, Android, iOS, macOS and PlayStation 5. Wuthering Waves will also debut on Xbox Series X/S in July 2026, just two years after the game’s launch.
