Blue Lock Season 3 Confirmed Alongside New Movie

With the FIFA World Cup only days away, Blue Lock just released one of its biggest announcements yet. During Japan’s annual “Blue Lock Day” celebration on June 9, the hit soccer anime officially revealed the title of its highly anticipated third season, titled Blue Lock NEO EGOIST LEAGUE. The announcement, via a press release, arrived alongside new promotional material, character reveals, and a special commemorative movie for fans.

The timing could not have been better for the franchise. Based on the bestselling manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura, Blue Lock has grown into one of anime’s most successful sports series, surpassing 60 million copies in circulation worldwide as of June 2026. Following two television seasons and a theatrical film, the series is now preparing to enter one of its most acclaimed story arcs.

Blue Lock Enters the NEO EGOIST LEAGUE

Season 3 will adapt the fan-favorite NEO EGOIST LEAGUE storyline, which takes place after Japan’s dramatic victory over the U-20 national team. That match transformed protagonist Yoichi Isagi from an overlooked high school striker into a rising soccer sensation after he scored the decisive winning goal. Now, Isagi and the remaining Blue Lock competitors must prove themselves on an even larger stage.

Rather than competing only against one another, the surviving players will face elite young talents connected to Europe’s five major soccer leagues. The goal remains unchanged: produce the world’s greatest striker capable of leading Japan to World Cup glory. However, the scale of the competition is far greater, bringing international stars and world-class clubs into the spotlight.

To accompany the announcement, the production team unveiled a new teaser visual along with updated character profiles. Fans received a fresh look at Isagi, while anime-only viewers were formally introduced to one of the arc’s most important new figures, Michael Kaiser. The German prodigy serves as the ace striker of Bastard München and is recognized as a member of the prestigious New Generation World XI.

Michael Kaiser and a New Blue Lock Movie Are Here

One of the most exciting reveals surrounding the new season is the anime debut of Michael Kaiser. Voiced by acclaimed actor Mamoru Miyano, Kaiser is portrayed as a supremely confident forward with exceptional technical ability, elite physical talent, and an overwhelming sense of self-belief. His ruthless competitive mindset makes him a natural fit for the ego-driven philosophy at the heart of Blue Lock.

Meanwhile, Isagi’s voice actor, Kazuki Ura, shared his enthusiasm for finally bringing this arc to television. Ura explained that the NEO EGOIST LEAGUE storyline began serialization around the same time the anime first entered production. For him, adapting this chapter of Isagi’s journey has been both a long-term goal and a dream project.

It’s Official, A New Kaiju No. 8 Anime Is Releasing This Fall

Kaiju No. 8 is officially getting a new anime spin-off this Fall and fans will not want to miss the fan-favorite character it is about.

The season announcement was also paired with the release of a special “Blue Lock Day” movie. Rather than serving as a traditional theatrical feature, the project celebrates the franchise’s history through an ambitious crossover presentation that combines elements from the original manga, television anime, live-action productions, stage adaptations, and other Blue Lock media. It serves as both a retrospective and a celebration of the series’ rapid rise in popularity.

With animation once again being produced by Eight Bit, Blue Lock NEO EGOIST LEAGUE is set to be the franchise’s biggest chapter yet. As the Blue Lock manga’s most globally focused storyline makes its way to television, fans can expect higher stakes, stronger opponents, and the fiercest competition Isagi has faced since entering the Blue Lock project.
