Nearly five years after the Season 1 finale, Black Clover is finally back with a brand-new anime season. Fans don’t have to wait long, as Black Clover Season 2 will not only premiere this fall, but also receive a special advance screening for Episode 1.
The official Black Clover social media channels revealed that Black Clover Season 2 will premiere in October 2026 as part of the fall lineup. Crunchyroll will stream the new Black Clover anime in the U.S. and other international regions, excluding Asia.
Black Clover fans eager to see the return of Asta and friends will have the opportunity to attend the premiere screening for Season 2 at Anime Expo 2026, taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California, from July 2-5, 2026. The Black Clover Season 2 advanced screening joins Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Delicious in Dungeon and more in first-look reveals scheduled for the U.S. anime con.
Black Clover Officially Returns to Crunchyroll This October With Season 2 Premiere
Ayataka Tanemura, who directed the 2017 anime TV series and the Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King movie, officially returns as director for Black Clover Season 2. Season 1 of Black Clover ran for 170 episodes from October 2017 to March 2021.
“Asta and Yuno are two orphans who want the same thing: to become the Wizard King,” the official description for the series reads, via Crunchyroll. “Locked in a friendly rivalry, they work hard towards their goal.”
“While Yuno excels at magic, Asta has a problem uncommon in this world: he has no powers! But on the day they receive their grimoires, they surprise everyone. To reach their goal, they’ll each find their own path to greatness—with or without magic.”
After nearly 400 chapters, the Black Clover manga by Yuki Tabata recently concluded its 11-year run that began in Weekly Shonen Jump (Feb. 16, 2015 – Aug. 21, 2023) and ended in Jump Giga magazine (Dec. 25, 2023 – May 1, 2026). However, the series will receive a brand-new ending included exclusively in the upcoming Black Clover Official Guidebook, currently set for release in Japan on Aug. 4, 2026.
The Black Clover series is also headlining a new anime apparel collection by Uniqlo, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Shonen Jump. Also featured in the latest wave are Yu-Gi-Oh!, Spy x Family, Mashle: Magic and Muscles and more.
2026 is set to be a big year for Studio Pierrot, as not only will the legendary anime studio release Season 2 of Black Clover this fall, but its anime adaptation of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will finally come to an end this summer. However, there are no signs of Pierrot slowing down in 2027, as the Naruto anime franchise is launching a massive revival for its 25th anniversary.
Black Clover Season 1 is available to stream on Crunchyroll. All chapters of the manga can be read digitally via the Viz Media and Manga Plus apps.
