Black Clover Officially Returns August 2026 With a New Ending

Black Clover is finally back with a brand-new ending scheduled this summer. Following the initial ending of its 11-year run last May, Black Clover is releasing a 15-page follow-up to tie up all the loose ends.

The official new ending to the Black Clover manga will be released exclusively in the Black Clover Official Guidebook (per Shonen Jump News), currently set for release in Japan on Aug. 4, 2026. The guidebook will feature official artwork and story content by series creator Yuki Tabata.

Black Clover Official Guidebook will be released this August alongside the final volume of the Black Clover manga. A new Black Clover anime is scheduled for October 2026 on Crunchyroll.

Black Clover Finally Returns August 2026 With Official New Ending

Both Black Clover Final Volume 38 and the Black Clover Official Guidebook are scheduled to be released on Aug. 4, 2026, in Japan. An official English release date by Viz Media has yet to be announced.

Crunchyroll’s official description for Black Clover reads: “Asta and Yuno are two orphans who want the same thing: to become the Wizard King. Locked in a friendly rivalry, they work hard towards their goal. While Yuno excels at magic, Asta has a problem uncommon in this world: he has no powers! But on the day they receive their grimoires, they surprise everyone. To reach their goal, they’ll each find their own path to greatness—with or without magic.”

The first Black Clover anime series ran continuously for 170 episodes from October 2017 to March 2021. Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, the first theatrical animated movie in the series, was released domestically in Japan on June 16, 2023, with an international streaming release on Netflix the same day.

Black Clover “Season 2” was first announced in July 2025 with a teaser trailer and a key visual, and Crunchyroll confirmed it would stream the new series internationally. The new season of Black Clover will join fellow Shonen Jump hits on Crunchyroll, such as the final season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and the upcoming anime remake of Dragon Ball Super.

The Black Clover manga by Yuki Tabata was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from Feb. 16, 2015, to Aug. 21, 2023, before pivoting to new quarterly releases under Jump Giga due to struggles with maintaining a weekly release schedule. Black Clover Chapter 392 was released on May 1, 2026, officially ending the manga’s 11-year run with Asta vs. Yuno Grinberryall deciding who will become the new Wizard King.

The original Black Clover anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll, Netflix and Hulu/Disney+. All chapters of the manga can be read digitally on Viz Media and the Manga Plus apps.
