5 Major Nintendo Switch 2 Reveals Expected in the June 2026 Direct

Summer Game Fest this year had a surprisingly notable Nintendo presence, but the biggest surprises have still yet to come. It’s pretty much a given every year that Nintendo hosts a big June Direct showcasing their upcoming lineup of games, and with talks about a Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake and 3D Mario in the works behind the scenes, this year’s June Direct could be big.

There have already been a plethora of leaks regarding a June Nintendo Direct, with many prominent insiders pointing to the week of June 8 specifically. Considering what the rumor mill has been saying about GTA 6, alongside what Nintendo itself has already revealed is coming this year, Switch 2 gamers can expect some very big announcements and reveals to happen at this June Nintendo Direct.

Call of Duty Will Have a Huge Presence at the June Nintendo Direct

Call of Duty‘s arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 is a big deal, and Nintendo definitely won’t be taking it lightly. Now that Nintendo just recently announced that the latest COD game, Modern Warfare 4, is coming to Switch 2 on day one, fans can expect the Direct to make that reveal a big focus.

It’s possible Nintendo could talk more about the next Call of Duty game, potentially even revealing a new trailer. And not only is Modern Warfare 4 coming to the system, but there have already been potential leaks for both Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 coming to Switch 2 by way of a Korean ratings board. All things considered, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Nintendo shadow drop both Black Ops games in celebration of Call of Duty‘s arrival on the Switch 2.

Dusk Bloods Could Join Elden Ring In Getting a Release Date For the Holidays

FromSoft’s Dusk Bloods has already been confirmed to be coming to the Switch 2 this year, but fans still don’t have an actual release date for the game yet. That’s likely about to change following this June Nintendo Direct. In the lead-up to this direct, Nintendo already announced the release date for Elden Ring coming to Switch 2 on August 28.

It makes sense that Nintendo might ease in on the reveal by showing off some new footage of Elden Ring running on the new system before transitioning to the brand-new game. Fans have received pretty much no information about this game since it was first unveiled in April 2025; it’s long overdue for a deeper look and an official release window at least. Perhaps October would be the perfect time to drop a spooky horror-influenced game like Dusk Bloods.

GTA 6’s Switch 2 Release Date and Announcement Would Be a Major System Seller for the Switch 2

Grand Theft Auto 6 is the big talk of the holiday season, at least as far as PlayStafkon and Xbox gamers are concerned. The game has finally received a solid release date of November 19 for both the PS5 and Xbox Series, but Nintendo has remained completely silent about whether this game will even be comin to the Switch 2.

It’s highly likely that not only is GTA 6 coming to the Switch 2, but it’ll get some kind of teaser and release window in the June Direct. It’s likely the game will take a bit longer to come to the Switch 2 than other platforms considering it’ll have to be optimized for the new hardware, but it wouldn’t be shocking to learn that GTA 6 could be coming to Switch 2 some time early next year.

Zelda’s Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Remake Will Definitely Be Announced at the Next Direct

The Switch 2 probably won’t have GTA 6 this holiday season, but one game it almost certainly will have to fill that void will be Zelda. Specifically, the heavily rumored and leaked The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake. The OOT‘s remake is one of the most talked-about leaks in Nintendo’s lineup for the year, and for good reason.

This would be Nintendo’s biggest release of the holidays by far, especially given Pokémon Winds and Waves doesn’t drop until next year and rumors have also suggested 3D Mario won’t show up until 2027 either. So far, the leaks have implied this game isn’t just a mere remaster with a fresh coat of paint, it’s a fundamentally new game that uses the storyline and version of Hyrule players saw in OOT as a foundation.

The New 3D Mario For Switch 2 Could Finally Get Teased

Nintendo just got done celebrating Mario’s 40th anniversary earlier this year, but maybe the celebration isn’t quite finished just yet. There could be one last major announcement for Mario coming this summer: the next 3D Mario game. Most Nintendo fans agree the Switch 2 is long overdue for some kind of announcement regarding the next 3D Mario game, especially since it has now been nearly a decade since Super Mario Odyssey came out.

With Mario still fresh in gamers’ heads thanks to the Super Mario Galaxy movie at the start of the year, it seems logical for Nintendo to drop their first teaser for the next 3D Super Mario game sooner than later. There have already been leaks suggesting that the game won’t come out until next year, but if it has an early 2027 release, Nintendo will likely want to start talking about the game before the holidays to build hype.
