3 Best Movies To Watch On Hulu This Weekend (June 6-7)

It’s the first weekend in June, so that means there are tons of amazing new movies to watch on Hulu. These three picks should go to the top of your list. Hulu is one of the oldest streaming platforms in the game, and the website originally launched back in 2007. Though the streamer has evolved in the nearly two decades since its debut, Hulu’s popularity hasn’t waned.

The service is mostly known as a hub for TV content, but Hulu has plenty of movies in its catalog as well. Because of Disney’s stake in the company, Hulu often hosts films from the studio and its many subsidiary companies. From blockbuster flicks to understated indie movies, there’s a little bit of everything under the green brand’s banner.

Though Hulu has a significantly smaller movie catalog than competitors like Netflix or Prime Video, there is still a lot to choose from. With a revolving door of incoming and outgoing content each month, it can get even more challenging to decide what to watch. Thankfully, most movies streaming right now on Hulu are at least worth checking out.

This weekend’s list of movie picks doesn’t really have a theme or a connecting thread that links the films. Instead, it serves up a trio of movies from various eras and genres. One is a classic action film from the 1990s, while another is a quirky Aughts period drama. Finally, the list concludes with a stellar new horror movie that lit up the box office earlier in 2026.

Con Air (1997)

Nicolas Cage as Poe running from an explosion in Con Air.

The 1990s is fondly remembered for its bombastic action hits, and Con Air is one of the most ’90s movies ever made. The Nicolas Cage vehicle is set aboard a cargo plane transporting dangerous criminals. When a serial killer plots his escape, a parolee must stop him. Cage is let off the chain and delivers one of his most entertaining performances.

The rest of the cast is strong too, and Con Air has flashes of brilliance that elevate it above mere schlock. Nevertheless, the real value of the 1997 blockbuster is as a goofy popcorn flick. It’s currently streaming on Hulu, and Con Air is the ideal film for action fans and anyone who likes a great piece of mindless entertainment.

2

Marie Antoinette (2006)

Sofia Coppola’s anachronistic period drama, Marie Antoinette, got mixed reviews 20 years ago, but it has aged quite well. The movie chronicles the rise and eventual fall of the title character, drawing parallels between the 18th century and the 21st. The movie’s soundtrack features modern music, and even some of the costume choices are ripped straight from the Aughts.

Marie Antoinette accurately predicted the rise of anachronistic media like Bridgerton, and it has an exaggerated playful tone. Even so, it manages to get to the heart of the historical narrative, drilling in on themes of alienation, class, and apathy. The movie is a feast for the eyes, and has certain nostalgic value for viewers of a certain age. It’s currently one of the most underrated movies on Hulu.

A Hulu subscription gets viewers access to some of the best movies from 2026, and Send Help is a recent gem. After being passed over for a promotion, an office worker becomes stranded on an island with her overbearing boss. Rachel McAdams is transformed as would-be survivalist, Linda Liddle, and Dylan O’Brien excels at playing her smarmy boss.

Underneath Sam Raimi’s survival horror trappings is a story about the fragility of social order, and how modern skills are useless in a disaster. Send Help has a few shocking moments sure to turn stomachs, so it isn’t for viewers with weak constitutions. Of all the new and newish movies on Hulu right now, Send Help is the one that’s most worth watching.
