1 Year Later, LEGO Finally Reveals First-Ever KPop Demon Hunters Set

In June 2025, Netflix stole the global animation spotlight with KPop Demon Hunters — a film that creatively weaves Korean mythos into a modern-day fantasy tale, featuring beautiful animation and a stellar soundtrack. To honor what has rapidly become one of Netflix’s most successful originals, LEGO is gearing up for the release of its first official KPop Demon Hunters-inspired set.

Recently, LEGO unveiled its 825-piece “Derpy Bird and Sussie Bird” set, which will be released in North America on Aug. 1, 2026. As detailed on LEGO’s official site, this release is dedicated to the lovable blue tiger and the multi-eyed magpie, which serve as messengers for Jinu, the leader of HUNTR/X’s rival group, The Saja Boys.

“Girls and boys can have a blast assembling this fun piece of K-pop merch and recreating memorable scenes from the movie,” LEGO’s site description reads. Readers can check out official images of the set below.

Like his animated counterpart, LEGO’s “Derpy Tiger” features bright yellow eyes and a goofy, open-mouthed grin. The figure can also be customized with an additional tongue piece and two love note pieces.

As shown above, Derpy can be assembled so that a love note is attached to his dangling pink tongue — a reference to scenes of him delivering love notes from Jinu to HUNTR/X’s lead singer, Rumi. The set also includes a flowerpot — a piece of background decor that Derpy knocks over and breaks several times in the movie.

Wherever Derpy goes, Jinu’s “Sussie Bird” is never far behind, its preferred perch being the top of the tiger’s giant head. LEGO’s Sussie model can also be attached to the completed Derpy model. The inside of Derpy’s head includes a “secret” compartment for the set’s accessories.

An urban fantasy set in modern-day Seoul, KPop Demon Hunters is set in a world where pop singers use their vocals to raise up a protective barrier called the “Honmoon,” which prevents demonic entities from wreaking havoc on humanity. While trying to formulate a permanent barrier, HUNTR/X group members Rumi, Zoey and Mira face opposition from a rival group, the Saja Boys, which is actually a triad of demons in disguise. Meanwhile, HUNTR/X’s lead singer Rumi secretly grapples with her own half-demon lineage.

As of June 15, 2026, KPop Demon Hunters has spent 50 consecutive weeks on Netflix’s “Top 10 English-Language Movies” list. The film scored two historical wins at the 2026 Academy Awards. Alongside earning the Oscar for ‘Best Animated Feature’—a first for any film helmed by a South Korean Director — KPop Demon Hunters also won an Oscar for ‘Best Original Song’ thanks to its mega-hit theme, ‘Golden.’ This track, which is performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI, is the first South Korean pop to take home this honor.

LEGO’s “Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird” set is available to pre-order on LEGO’s online site for $69.99 USD. KPop Demon Hunters is streaming exclusively on Netflix. Earlier this year, Sony Pictures Animation also confirmed that a sequel feature has been greenlit for production. The film’s current release window is 2029.
