The Legend of Zelda has been through a ton of different eras over the last 40 years, and your own favorite likely depends on which came along at the right time, when you had the perfect balance of free time and disposable income. That said, many will agree that its most recent run was particularly noteworthy regardless.
Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom were markedly different from anything we had seen previously, and the open world formula was a lovely change from the norm. As with all good things, the era of those games must come to an end, and while a lot of the community is ready for a new adventure, it doesn’t mean we have to leave the old behind entirely.
Over on the official Hallmark website, you should be able to find the product page for a new licensed item of memorabilia, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Link Musical Ornament With Light. Though it’s obviously a little early for Christmas, it is a brilliant little gift if someone you know is a fan of the franchise, in particular the recent games.
The official description for the new release reads as follows:
“Immerse yourself in the Kingdom of Hyrule with Link from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom video game. As he battles to find the origins of the gloom enshrouding the kingdom, Link crouches low on one heel, wearing his Champion’s Leathers and Hylian Hood with the Master Sword sheathed to his back. The dynamic Christmas tree ornament lights up and plays music. Battery operated.”
In particular, the detail is something that you actually don’t see in a lot of releases of this ilk, and the iconic design of the character in this iteration of the games lends itself very well to a memorable design.
Don’t be surprised if you start to see more of these releases pop-up over the course of the rest of the year, as Nintendo marks a momentous birthday for one of its most iconic franchises.
The biggest of those upcoming arrivals is undoubtedly the release of the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which is scheduled to go ahead later this year (on an as yet unnamed date). Expect to hear more about that game in relatively short order as well, including a potential full gameplay reveal and additional presentation over the next few months.
