Webtoon’s Weirdest Isekai Is Only 40 Chapters, and It Needs An Anime ASAP

From Hardcore Leveling Warrior to The Greatest Estate Developer, isekai is, without a doubt, one of Webtoon‘s most popular genres, much like it is in anime. And, much in the same way, while there are many things that make the genre so enjoyable, it’s easy for multiple series to fall into the same old tropes.

Much like isekai anime has been suffering from oversaturation, the same goes for webtoons and manhwa, and it can be truly challenging to find a distinctive series amidst the crowd. That said, Webtoon may have just the refresher isekai fans have been hunting for, and it’s the perfect binge.

Mr. Delivery Knight Is Webtoon’s Zaniest Isekai Series In Years

One of Webtoon’s funniest, weirdest series finally wrapped up in January of this year, and with only 39 chapters, it’s a must-read for any isekai fan looking for a hearty laugh and a refreshing take on the genre. Over the last year since its release, Mr. Delivery Knight by maja has accumulated 1.9 million reads, and this is arguably not nearly enough attention for how entertaining the series is.

Mr. Delivery Knight takes off with an unexpected subversion of the classic “truck-kun” trope, asking the comical question of what if the one who was transmigrated after an accident wasn’t the person hit by the truck but “truck-kun” instead. After precisely such a cliché accident between a truck and the reader of a romance fantasy novel, Bae Taekjin, the unsuspecting driver of the delivery truck, finds himself transported into the novel, truck in tow.

Every New Isekai Anime Coming To Streaming In 2026

For those who have difficulty keeping up with all the upcoming releases, here is a complete list of all the new isekai anime confirmed for 2026.

Upon arriving in this fantastical world, Taekjin immediately bumps into the protagonist Sate, who mistakes him for a knight and begs for his aid. Thus, Taekjin unwittingly finds himself entangled with the main characters of the story, all while trying to find his way back to his own world. However, being a middle-aged man, Taekjin knows nothing about romance fantasy stories and their conventions, setting the stage for the series to endlessly poke fun at popular isekai tropes through him.

Mr. Delivery Knight Is An Unapologetic Isekai Parody

funny moments from mr. delivery knight

Mr. Delivery Knight’s Taekjin is a typical fish out of water, approaching the over-the-top mannerisms and norms of this fantastical world with comically oblivious practicality. This includes lecturing the story’s cold duke of the North for being rude to his elders, or giving the crown prince in disguise his phone number in a world where phones don’t even exist.

Besides recreating countless memes, the series also often skips over cliché dialogue with silly blather and breaks through the fourth wall multiple times. Bringing the truck into the novel also allows the series’ fantastical characters to interact with modern items, setting up hilarious moments such as them trying spicy ramen for the first time, or running over antagonists with the truck in a pinch. That said, perhaps the funniest part of the series is its impulsive abandon in naming characters, such as the head butler quite literally being named Budler, or the Pope being named Oh My God.

character names in mr. delivery knight

Clearly, Mr. Delivery Knight does not take itself seriously at any point across its 39 chapters, and it’s a hoot through and through. Even so, the series still sports quite a charming, likable cast of characters, each quirkier than the next. Mr. Delivery Knight’s story is also quite wholesome as Taekjin evolves into a father figure of sorts to Sate and the rest of the novel’s cast of characters.

More than anything, the series is a breeze, and with just under 40 chapters, it could make for a perfect two-cour anime. Zany isekai anime such as From Bureaucrat to Villainess have been incredibly well-received and prove that isekai fans are looking for something new, and Mr. Delivery Knight could do just the job.
