Transformers Officially Revives a Forgotten Decepticon in New First Look

Yolopark has produced several model kits based on the Transformers franchise, many of which are set in the Generation 1 continuity. Now, a new duo has been announced that focuses on two far more obscure characters, one of whom is derived from a toy that was never even released.

The AMK Mini “House Of Magnus” 2-pack with Sideburn & Menasor toys are redecoes of previous Yolopark Transformers model kits, though they represent completely different characters. One of them is from a forgotten Transformers anime, while the other is based on an unused iteration of a classic Decepticon Combiner. Exclusive to an upcoming convention, these are two toys that won’t be rolling out anywhere else.

Yolopark’s newly revealed AMK Mini “House Of Magnus” 2-pack has two otherwise unrelated characters: Side Burn and Menasor. The former is a redeco of the AMK Mini version of the Autobot Hot Rod, changing the red and orange into blue to represent the Autobot from Transformers: Robots in Disguise. His head is also changed to further match the design of this anime Autobot, and he comes with a blaster for a weapon.

Redecoing Hot Rod is an ironic choice for the mold, as Side Burn’s upgraded form in the Robots in Disguise anime has him a color scheme based on the G1 Autobot. The Decepticon in this 2-pack is the Decepticon Menasor, which is arguably meant to be the combined form of the Generation 1 Stunticons. In actuality, however, this toy is based on an unreleased Transformers action figure, which, due to copyright issues, was actually another character entirely.

Yolopark’s Menasor comes with a blaster and is a redeco of the company’s toy for how Orion Pax appeared in the IDW Publishing Transformers comic books. Conversely, it’s meant to represent the unreleased Menasor toy from Transformers: Universe, which was itself a redeco of Transformers Generation 1 Thunder Clash.

This toy was one of many canceled releases for the toyline, and despite bearing the name of the combined form of the Stunticons, it was actually meant to be an updated version of Motormaster, who was merely the leader of that group. Due to copyright laws, Hasbro couldn’t secure the name at the time, with the toy ultimately failing to hit the market.

Each of these kits comes pre-assembled and pre-painted, with both having interchangeable hands and 14 points of articulation. The set will be exclusive to the upcoming Botcon Chicago 2026, so die-hard fans will have to attend in order to secure these esoteric collectibles.
