At long last, Jujutsu Kaisen has an official release date for its next project: Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’s official English release. A year after Jujutsu Kaisen’s finale, Gege Akutami, surprisingly, teamed up with Yuji Iwasaki of Cipher Academy fame and returned with a short sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, and not only was it a great story on its own merit, but it also did wonders to give the franchise some much-needed closure after a somewhat lackluster finale.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo was an amazing addition to the franchise, and there’s plenty more in store for the series. While Modulo ended in March 2026, Viz Media has just announced that Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will receive a physical release in spring 2027, meaning fans finally know when they can own the series for themselves.
2027 might be a long way away, but with how great a story Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is, it will be well worth the wait.
Why Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Will Be Worth The Wait
Spring 2027 might be a long wait for the English release of the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga, but it’s more than worth putting up with. For starters, while Yuji Iwasaki’s art style is very different from Gege Akutami’s, he still does an amazing job of giving the characters and world life and making the fight scenes feel epic in scale, with Dabura and Mahoraga’s fight being a standout in the entire franchise. If anything, Modulo is great specifically because of Iwasaki’s artwork, and that’s nothing short of amazing.
More than that, of course, is the story Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo told. Not only does Modulo do a lot to give proper closure to Yuji and the wider franchise after the rushed finale of the original series, but as its own story, Modulo more than excels through its fun cast of characters and its emotionally gripping story about immigration and the importance of making peace with others, regardless of nationality. By the end of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, it had evolved into a masterpiece of a short story, and it will be great to experience that all again in 2027
